The Medrash answers that when Yaakov was Niftar, the eyes and hearts of Bnei Yisrael were “sealed” because of the slavery of which they were coerced into. The Baer Yosef is bothered by this Medrash. Why would the beginning of the Parsha be the appropriate place for this Remez? October 26, 2001.
