http://gamesteratlarge.blogspot.com/2014/01/kapcon-2014-review.html
Reviews and commentary on pen and paper roleplaying games, books, computer games and anything else that seems to fit in. Kapcon this year was mainly games on demand for me, plus two rounds of adventure squad, the new family event run by me and another parent/gamer. Round Two: Black Stars Rise. Round Three: The Quiet Yea. I think I might be getting the hang of running it. Rounds Five and Six: Adventure Squad. Games for families (specifically 5-12 year old kids with their parents present) was a bit of ...

Gamester At Large: Game Update
http://gamesteratlarge.blogspot.com/2014/03/game-update.html
Reviews and commentary on pen and paper roleplaying games, books, computer games and anything else that seems to fit in. I've been playing a bunch of Torchbearer. With the Monday crew, which has been great fun. After a second session total party kill, they've got a second party adventuring to some success. We'll soon have someone at level three! I also got in a game of Life on Mars. When there were some absences. This is meditative, thoughtful game. It reminds me a lot of The Quiet Year.

http://gamesteratlarge.blogspot.com/2013/08/arise.html
Reviews and commentary on pen and paper roleplaying games, books, computer games and anything else that seems to fit in. Time to write some stuff here again! I'll kick off with some quick reviews of all the games I've got since hollowpoint. There's quite a lot of them, especially with the Kickstarters from earlier. Starting with the most recent and following in the order of me remembering them:. I got my pretty hardcover of the Lamentations of the Flame Princess. I've read the PDFs of Numenera. Which is ...

It's hard out here for an Owlbear. Laquo; Older Entries. June 11, 2014. 8220;So, why exactly did it take you six months to update us on your progress in the Long Road game thing,” a hypothetical reader might ask. This is mostly Bill’s fault. I’ve been sucked into Warmachine. I held out for two or so years but I’m not made of stone. So enough jibber jabber. Here’s my Warbarbies (so far). The Long March] Ages 1-3, inclusive. June 8, 2014. The pace has been slower than originally intended. What I envisi...

Gamester At Large: March 2014
http://gamesteratlarge.blogspot.com/2014_03_01_archive.html
Reviews and commentary on pen and paper roleplaying games, books, computer games and anything else that seems to fit in. I'm tracking reading again, here's this year so far:. Of Dice and Men. By David Ewalt. Another history of D&D, this from a more personal side than Playing At The World. Perhaps a little much of his own history with the game, although I expect that's aimed more at readers who don't have as much a history with roleplaying games as I do. All You Need Is Kill. He Drank, and Saw the Spider.
