These Three Remain: Triathlon Tale
http://sandystrugglestospeak.blogspot.com/2011/06/triathlon-tale.html
A promise to keep.a discipline to embrace.a life to share. Monday, June 20, 2011. Isaac participated in his second triathlon for kids this past weekend. You'll find photos and story here. The waves of racers start with the oldest kids (13-15 year olds) and finishes with the 5-6 year old group. Who can watch small riders pedaling out onto the bike course with training wheels and not. What good manners.what self-confidence.what total mis-judgement of one's relative speed! June 21, 2011 at 7:04 AM. Excellen...

The View From Here: March 2010
http://sandycullum.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html
The View From Here. Wednesday, March 10, 2010. It has been six years since I prayed "the dangerous prayer" and hurled my deepest desire for my family to know God fully, into the lap of God. I wanted them to know his complete character and personality experientially through relationship, intuition and intellect. The lap of God became the threshhold of an open door and we stepped through. Our older son, Kyle and his wife, Michelle, carried a seemingly bottomless bag. During a two year span in the midst of ...

The View From Here: November 2010

The View From Here. Monday, November 22, 2010. What I Really Want For Christmas. Very soon I will need to answer the "what do you want for Christmas? What I would REALLY. Like for Christmas, if someone could give it to me, would be the gift of being a good listener. I remember seeing a picture definition of the character trait of "attentive" when our boys were young: a line drawing of two children in a small tent, with alert eyes and cocked ears, listening, listening to a coyote howling at the moon. ...

The View From Here: Advent Wait
http://sandycullum.blogspot.com/2010/12/advent-wait.html
The View From Here. Sunday, December 19, 2010. One of the first ASL (American Sign Language) signs I learned after Michelle and Kyle brought Prema from Kolkata, India into their home was "wait". Both hands extended, palm up, with all the fingers waving, like an upside down movement on a computer or piano keyboard. Prema had NO symbolic language and I had very few ASL signs at my command, so I used it a lot in all my interactions with her those first few months. I watch my grand-daughter move in and out o...

http://sandycullum.blogspot.com/2010_08_01_archive.html
The View From Here. Saturday, August 28, 2010. Unpacked, Falling Asleep, and Grateful. David, Mom and I took a red eye flight from Anchorage to Houston to Tampa last night after spending 10 days exploring Alaska, enjoying the scenery and wildlife and COOLNESS and many great meals. As ususal, I took bunches of photos - until I inadvertently smashed our camera against a table and bent the lens. This sunset view is from our lodge, north of Talkeetna. Monday, August 9, 2010. The View From Here. Monday, July 26, 2010. A Lifetime of Giving Thanks. Thanksgiving: It does a body good. I realized when Amber began posting her deliberate thanksgiving on her blog a few weeks ago. That it was probably time for me to move back into the discipline of frequent, deliberate thanksgiving instead of waiting for it to overtake me with joy. So I am beginning today to keep my word to join the Multitude Monday community. I am so grateful:. I am so grateful:. 10 for the church family that welcome...

cullum family: Haircut
http://thecullumfamily.blogspot.com/2012/12/haircut.html
Friday, December 28, 2012. Yes, I knew they were doing this. Yes ,I allowed it to happen. They needed a haircut anyway and usually we just take the shears to them. It served its purpose.the house was quiet for a good hour, they were enjoying their time and they were making some fun memories. The scary part is that they actually think their new style looks good. Finished Product.certainly in need of a buzz cut in the next few hours. Maybe Gene will give them some pointers when he comes to visit.

The View From Here. Tuesday, May 11, 2010. Note to Self 2: Cups in the Car. One of the things I love about my newest daughter-in-law is how much she enjoys laughter. Since Amber reminded me afresh about the immense value of laughter in her recent blog post, I thought I'd share a quick EEUUGH! I put the car in park, turned and pulled the keys, and grabbed the to-go cup in the holder for a swig. Suck on the straw, feel lemon seed-sized object in mouth followed immediately by YOWWW.that's a STING!

The View From Here: The Happy Discipline
http://sandycullum.blogspot.com/2011/04/happy-discipline.html
The View From Here. Monday, April 4, 2011. Our desktop computer (with all my photos) has been paralyzed since the heavy storm that moved through our area last Thursday, but hopefully, soon, I'll have it back, with all bits fully restored and accessible. My body is reluctant to fully cooperate with my ambitious to-do list today, but at least I can post thank you's from the sofa with a borrowed laptop. I am grateful for:. 252 Prema's self-occupied, quiet deportment at the library. 254 the "nesting tree" du...
