two per week: March 2014
http://five-by-seven.blogspot.com/2014_03_01_archive.html
Thursday, March 6. Not my own, though I am - for the first time in a long time - getting inspired to make new stuff. I stumbled across these artists and their work by perusing Booooooom.com. And was instantly drawn to both of them. This piece is called Landed. And it's by Ian Strange. It's currently installed at the 2014 Biennial of Australian Art. He works across several disciplines, (film, video, photography) and, as shown - site specific interventions using homes. This piece - Six Blue Shadows. Simple...

http://five-by-seven.blogspot.com/2014/02/found-on-ffffound.html
Friday, February 21. Since my post yesterday was a bit of a bummer, and those melancholic feelings have persisted into this morning, I decided to look for some random images to cheer me up on FFFFound. And a little positive inspiration. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. Even more of my work. Words and drawings blog. Art hamster in the city. Charmaine olivia ▲. words and drawings: about
http://wordsanddrawings.blogspot.com/p/about.html
I am a recent graduate of the Visual Arts program at York University and in order to develop my work independently, I have recently begun an independent study through York. I'm going to be focusing on the relationship between art and text, including typography, design, and text in Fine Art. I've started this blog as a place to upload my work in progress as I complete my proposed projects, and a place to post my thoughts on the various readings I'll be looking at. words and drawings: October 2010
http://wordsanddrawings.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html
Wednesday, October 27, 2010. Another essay response: on collaboration. Visual Art is the vast, umbrella term that could be used to describe what I and countless others do. It includes the old standbys- painting and sculpture to name a couple, as well as new(er) forms like installation and video. Basically if it's visual. And someone thinks to call it art. For this essay response (number 33 in Bierut's 79 Essays. I chose an essay entitled I Hear You've Got Script Trouble: The Designer as Auteur. He points...

words and drawings: What's In Your Front Yard?
http://wordsanddrawings.blogspot.com/2013/07/whats-in-your-front-yard.html
Monday, July 29, 2013. What's In Your Front Yard? On a world scale trees are crucial for more than just sentimental reasons. The environmental benefits of having trees is immeasurable. They help to clean the air. They help to intercept. Living in a large city, I personally feel the effects of noise pollution daily. The sounds associated with living in the city seem to fade away when surrounded by trees, and the calmness is not purely imagined. Trees help to lessen noise pollution as well as atmos...It is...

words and drawings: Together and Apart
http://wordsanddrawings.blogspot.com/2013/07/together-and-apart.html
Monday, July 29, 2013. A couple years ago I witnessed as an adult how difficult divorce can be for families when my dad separated a second time, this time from my stepmother. They have two kids together and the emotional toll the separation took on my younger siblings was high. There are many wonderful dads in the world who do not see their children as much as they would like. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Whats In Your Front Yard? No Toronto Visit Would Be Complete.

Monday, July 29, 2013. No Toronto Visit Would Be Complete. Without eating some of the best food you've ever tried. A visit to Montréal would be incomplete without a visit to Schwartz’s Deli, and anyone hungry for some delicious smoked meat deli here in Toronto should visit Caplansky’s. They’ve got all-day breakfast, sandwiches piled high with smoked meat or corned beef, and knish! I would be remiss if I didn’t mention my personal favourite. Café La Gaffe is hidden between the Art Gallery of Ont...Toronto...
