Totton U3A Nature Watch. Tuesday, August 11, 2015. JULY BOLTON BENCH LYNDHURST. THE WALK WAS ATTENDED BY 10 MEMBERS, TWO GRANDCHILDREN AND OF COURSE THE GLORIOUS DAY WITH SUNSHINE. THERE WERE LOTS OF SIGTINGS WHICH INCLUDED PIED WAGTAIL, STONECHAT, SEVERAL LBJ’S, PLUS MEMBERS OF THE CROW FAMILY. FROM THE HIGH GROUND LARGE CRANES WERE SEEN, WHICH TURNED OUT TO BE THE GREY DOCKSIDE TYPES, THJERE WERE A LONG DISTANT AWAY. GROUND SIGHTINGS INCLUDED A FROG AND CONCLUDED A VERY PLEASANT MORNING ENJOYED BY ALL.

Totton U3A Nature Watch. Tuesday, February 10, 2015. 11 members turned up for the meeting at Ashlett Creek, yet again in sunshine. The sightings included Little Grebe, Curlew, Red Shank, Oyster Catcher, Shelduck, and at the end of the visit Egret and Pied Wagtails. Totton U3A Nature Watch. Thursday, July 04, 2013. The June Nature walk. The June Nature walk was a little disappointing both in terms of the number of members and the number of species of birds seen. Two of us enjoyed a walk around Pig Bush. The birds were scarce we did seen some Stonechats a few pipits (meadow), starlings crows and the like. Totton U3A Church Visits. Thursday, 9 July 2015. St Boniface Church, Nursling -. Tuesday 25 August 2pm. C Church dedicated to St Boniface, born in Crediton 680AD, missionary to Germany and martyr. He is associated with the Church at Nursling because it stands on the site of a monastery where he taught, and an earlier Saxon church. It is said that no other Englishman had a greater influence on the history of Europe. This beautiful church is very interesting and well worth a visit. Tuesday 22 September 2pm.
