Tuesday, November 1, 2011. Eli acting just like a dog. Eli taking a turn at being scary! Edward leading the way for Eli, Jones and Harper. Papaw Alphus with Eli and D. It seems like this was the first year he was fully aware of everything going on- the horses, bonfire, hayride, food- and he enjoyed all of it. This year we also included Baby D for his first time to enjoy this momentous family event. The last three photos below shows how our family has changed since 2009. Ken and D by the fire pit.

Monday, October 31, 2011. Baby D's First Birthday. Baby D turned ONE on Friday, October 28th! We had a small party in his honor on Saturday. He thoroughly enjoyed his special cake. Singing the Happy Birthday song. D with his very own cake- yum! Abigail Shepherd, D (pulling Abigail's hair), Amelia Shepherd and Eli. Cake and food- Winnie the Pooh theme. Wednesday, September 22, 2010. Eli saw a photo of himself today and for the very first time he said his own name! Instead of Eli, but at least he knows his name or a version thereof. We took this photo about a month ago when I came across his Monkey costume in his closet. He didn't get to wear it last year because Ken had an emergency appendectomy on October 31st. Monday, January 10, 2011. We finally got to experience our first significant snow in many years to hit Cleveland- even though everyone else enjoyed waking up to a White Christmas here while we were away in Virginia a few weeks ago. According to our yard stick we got about 8 1/2". It was enough to close schools and many businesses (including Eli's daycare which hasn't closed in at least 22 years). Even the mailman got a snow day! I took some photos of the house and neighborhood. The snow is beautiful!

Sunday, August 22, 2010. Trip to Virginia and Growing Up. We recently took a trip to Virginia to see Eli's other set of grandparents, Granny and Papa (Ken's parents). They are in this photo with Eli that was taken just as we were about to head back home. It is always nice to spend quality and quantity time with Eli on our vacations and get out of the normal day-to-day routine. He seems to make more advancement during these times. Looks like he might become a Redskins Fan like the rest of the Bolin clan!

Monday, October 31, 2011. Guthrie Farms and Pumpkin Patch. We made a trip to Guthrie Farms and Pumpkin Patch in Riceville, TN on October 23rd. We enjoyed a hay ride out to the pumpkin patch where Eli and D picked out a pumpkin each. Eli enjoyed their petting zoo where he was able to pet and feed the billy goats, cows, etc. Here are a few of the photos we took:. In the pumpkin patch. Eli talking to the billy goat. Saturday, February 26, 2011. We had a house guest the weekend of February 12th. Harper spent the night with us that Saturday night. I think Eli really enjoyed having someone to play with. I made cupcakes while they watched from the bar stools at the island in the kitchen. They helped by placing the sprinkles on some cupcakes after they were frosted.
