Thursday, September 30, 2010. Liz finally got to "hold" Tuffy right before he went to take his tests. Nobody can really hold or pick him up because he has a ventilator in his nose. The reason for this is some of the medicine he is on that is keeping a valve open in his heart will sometimes make him forget to breath. Welcome to Tracker's World. Friday, October 1, 2010. Tracker just got his ventilator tube out! He is doing really good but they decided to put a nasal cannula on him (he doesn't have it on in this pic, they are just getting ready to put it on) because his 02 saturation dropped some. The red on his cheeks is from the tape that they had on there holding the tube in place. This pic is right after he was born and Liz only got to hold him for about 60 seconds. Little Tracker: Friday Update

Friday, October 1, 2010. This morning they did what they call a spontaneous ex-tubation .Which really just means that they left his ventilator tube in his nose but turned it off to where it would only help him if he didn't breath for a certain amount of time. They left this off for about an 1 1/2 hours. He did sooooo good with it! He was awake and asleep and passed it with flying colors. So they are tapering off his vent and are hopefully going to take out his ventilator tube this afternoon sometime.

Saturday, October 2, 2010. Not such a great night. They did a whole bunch of xrays and either ultrasounds or echo's of his heart and lungs to make sure that little valve that they are using to get blood to his lungs was not closing off because they are worried that it might be and that's another reason they upped his dose of the PGE's.
