Continuing Professional Development (CPD) for Customs Brokers. Following consultation with industry, Australian Customs and Border Protection (Customs) introduced a mandatory CPD scheme for licensed customs brokers from 1 July 2012. A CPD licence condition was advised recently by Customs in respect to â œallâ customs broker licences and includes all licences renewed with effect from 1 July 2012 and all new licences issued on or after 1 July 2012. Changing Australia’s Horticulture Exports. The Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (formerly Australian Quarantine Inspection Service) advises Australiaâ s horticulture industry will be strengthened, following changes to export arrangements announced by Minister Ludwig this week. The export efficiency powers that have regulated the export of apple, pear and dried grapes from Australia will be removed on 31 January 2013 and powers relating to citrus will be retained until 31 January 2015.
