December 3, 2013. Hike “under” Folsom Lake. The vanity in our downstairs bathroom needed a little updating –. We removed the counter top and replaced it with a larger counter top, installed a tile back splash, new facet and soap dispenser. We cleaned up the cabinet and changed out the door and drawer pulls. Hike “under” Folsom Lake. January 21, 2014. I found a photo of Folsom Lake on Google Earth showing it with plenty of water for reference points. I wanted to see the remnants of the Gold Rush mining town of Mormon Island that was in that location before the dam was built and it became a lake. We had other plans for the afternoon and ran out of time so we didn’t see them, but I know approximately where they are. I want to go back when we have a little more time to explore. July 21, 2015. Larry and I took a three week road trip through the North West visiting the states of Nevada, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, South Dakota, Washington, Oregon and back to California. May 1, 2015. Larry removed the fireplace, thin brick veneer, hearth, book shelves and desk. Removing the stove pipe left a hole in the ceiling so rather than covering it with sheet rock we chose to install a 14 solar tube really lets in a lot of light. Larry started building. Pieces came in and were installed individually. He also had to install crown molding on that wall, add lighting in the center section, install the thermostat and repair the hardwood floor. A (mostly) inconsistent record of days. May 27, 2014. Finally, things have slowed down a little….or maybe they haven’t really. Maybe I just decided to make the time to throw this cake together….or maybe it’s because this cake takes no time at all. Well, at any rate, I made a cake. A peachy vanilla cake with a light fluffy topping. Add raspberries and your all set. Set for what? I just call this Summer Cake. Because it reminds me of summer. 1 box of vanilla cake mix.
