http://resipsaloquit.blogspot.com/2010_02_01_archive.html
The Thing Speaks For Itself). Tuesday, February 16, 2010. Snowshoe the Bear - February 6, 2010. So it has a been a long while - hoping to get back into the blogging groove. So I will skip straight from early December 2009 to early February 2010. So this year's inaugural event was a snow shoe race up in Big Bear at the beginning of February. I have never gone snow shoeing - but figured, how hard can it be to snowshoe a 5k at 7,000 feet? I did not take pictures (although I thought about it) - mainly becaus...

Res Ipsa Loquitur: Return to Razorback Ridge
http://resipsaloquit.blogspot.com/2011/03/return-to-razorback-ridge.html
The Thing Speaks For Itself). Tuesday, March 1, 2011. Return to Razorback Ridge. Today's MWTR catch-up was Razorback repeats - from Kersting's Court up to Razorback Ridge, back. Rest and then to the top of Carter and back. As I started slowly jogging (would love to say running, but think my slow trudge is too slow to say running) up Baldwin, I realized I had not been to Razorback ridge for a very long time. And that lead me to recall the very first time I ever tackled razor back ridge. My last memory of ...

The Thing Speaks For Itself). Monday, July 12, 2010. Conquer the Bear Part III - Kayak. So it was I headed back to Big Bear for kayaking - event number three in the serious. I thought this would be easier than the snow shoeing and the mountain biking, so I was looking forward to it. My extensive kayaking experience consists of - don't blink or you'll miss it - an REI class and an adventure race back in September 2008. Who needs to know how to paddle anyway? A view of the lake from the finish area.).

http://resipsaloquit.blogspot.com/2010_05_01_archive.html
The Thing Speaks For Itself). Thursday, May 6, 2010. And don't seem to be able to get out. I definately have goals and things I want to accomplish. But keep putting them off - one day at a time. I was on a roll in many ways. Eating well, exercising, feeling stronger and better. Then came vacation and other obligations. All good things - but getting me further out of any routine. Came back to be a course setter for the LAOC orienteering event. Then getting Dave off on the PCT and San Diego. Run a day there.

http://resipsaloquit.blogspot.com/2009_05_01_archive.html
The Thing Speaks For Itself). Saturday, May 30, 2009. Ice House Canyon (Memorial Day 2009). So our next hike was Ice House Canyon - up near Mt. Baldy. The hike to the saddle is 7.2 miles and about a 2600 foot climb up. The trail starts by a stream, which had a surprising amount of water in it. From there it is up the steep switch backs . . . and up . . .and up . . . We only suffered one real injury - Kary decided to do the splits in the loose rock -. All in all it was a fun hike! Res Ipsa Loquitur: November 2009
http://resipsaloquit.blogspot.com/2009_11_01_archive.html
The Thing Speaks For Itself). Friday, November 27, 2009. Thanksgiving is always a time of reflection, a time to be grateful for all the blessings we have. The past year has been filled with fun times and some low times. But in the end, we must choose to focus on the good, not the bad. This Thanksgiving started off at the Run for the Hungry 5k and the experience represented so much of what I have to be grateful for - in no particular order:. Fifth - I am grateful for the "Red Militia". It was about pushin...

Res Ipsa Loquitur: Grace
http://resipsaloquit.blogspot.com/2011/02/grace.html
The Thing Speaks For Itself). Friday, February 25, 2011. Hit crossfit today in the morning. A change for me. Today's challenge was Grace: 30 clean and jerks as fast as you can. Although Eric was sure to stress form first, over speed and that using a light weight for speed also defeated the purpose. I last did grace in September. I finished in about 6:57 with a 60lb load. A fun way to start a Friday. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). First Bike Ride of 2011. View my complete profile.

Res Ipsa Loquitur: December 2009
http://resipsaloquit.blogspot.com/2009_12_01_archive.html
The Thing Speaks For Itself). Tuesday, December 1, 2009. So this weekend we set out for another bike ride down the San Gabriel bike bath. Our ultimate goal was to get to the beach and back "someday. " Little did I know Saturday would be that day. When we left - we did not intend to go to the beach and back - approximately 65 miles. We were going to go about 48-50 miles. Something then went very wrong in Jane's brain. All of a sudden she says, "Let's go! Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
