Food Porn Friday: Fried Apps at Raleigh Times - Trailing Rachel
http://www.trailingrachel.com/food-porn-friday-fried-apps-at-raleigh-times
Food Porn Friday: Fried Apps at Raleigh Times. June 19, 2015. This post is far from chronological, as I’d forgotten about all this fried deliciousness until I searched through the depths of my camera. These greasy treats were consumed just as Raleigh caught its first hint of sunshine and warmth. Charlie, his sister, and I (along with every other human being in the city) had gone on a quest for an outdoor drinking spot. Obvi, you gotta throw in a side of ranch, we were at a bar. Mmmmm, salty AND greasy!

Booze, Food, and Rooftops: Another Weekend in DC. July 23, 2015. Thank goodness for friends in high places. Or at least those with rooftop pools…. Charlie and I recently headed north for another weekend in DC to eat, drink, and spend time with his sister and her boyfriend. Despite fighting horrendous traffic on the way in and out, I love hanging out in the big city and we instantly feel welcome in their 14th Street apartment on our air mattress away from home. The city in all its summertime glory was col...
A Saturday of Day Drinking (and Eating) Outdoors in Raleigh - Trailing Rachel

A Saturday of Day Drinking (and Eating) Outdoors in Raleigh. April 22, 2015. Thank God it’s spring. It’s been really hot outside lately and I love it. And do you know what I love more than this weather? Drinking outside in it. While Saturday may have begun with a bit of a failure, it happily ended up being a successful daytime drinking endeavor… followed by a nighttime photo shoot at the bar. After a sad and claustrophobic attempt at attending Cuegrass. Hey guys, it’s for charity! I like this place.

It’s Official…I Live in Phnom Penh! August 14, 2015. August 14, 2015. I’m officially living in Phnom Penh! Can you believe it? After roughly 24 hours in transit from the US to Asia I finally touched down in Phnom Penh early last week. During the past couple weeks I’ve basically fought a losing battle against jet lag, moved into my apartment, gone on a job interview, tried my best to master the art of crossing the street, and eaten all the Khmer food I could get my hands on. All this for a little over $1!

Equilibrio Festival El Salvador: Under The Sun. Festivals, it seems, have become somewhat of a passion of mine. I’ve made my way now to several around the world Burning Man. In the Nevada desert, Tomorrowland. In a Belgian neverland, Sunjam. On the shores of Honduras, Mardi Gras. In the heart of New Orleans, and Batabano in the streets of Grand Cayman, to name a few. But never have I felt so much a part of something as I did at Equilibrio. As the name of the festival suggests, at its core, Equilibrio is ...

Adelante: Expat Update (AKA My Quarter Life Crisis). Friday, January 30, 2015. Expat Update (AKA My Quarter Life Crisis). I feel like I've been so busy trying to catch up on travel posts (and you know, trying to get my life in order) that I haven't given a real update in a while. So, hi! And a 401K (I don't even know what that is?

Around the world in 240 days. Friday, February 22, 2008. Day 254 - Home from the Trees. We spent the morning with my grandmother, stopped briefly back at my mom's, and then dashed off again to go to the jeweler to have some stones we bought in India set and to meet up with my dad for lunch before driving down to VA Beach to see Cz's. Strolling and Snacks in Old San Juan with Spoon Food Tours. August 13, 2015. August 13, 2015. Food tours are one of my favorite things to do in a new city. I feel like it’s best to do them on the first day or two in a new destination to get a feel for the city, learn your way around, and get used to ordering food (potentially in a foreign language). I knew little to nothing about Puerto Rican cuisine, so. If You Liked This, Share It! Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window). August 6, 2015. Click ...

Karesansui | Thuan's Garden: Widowerhood, Life, and Culture
Thuan's Garden: Widowerhood, Life, and Culture. An Upbeat Grief Song. December 30, 2014. December 31, 2014. I came upon this song by Agnetha Faltskog about a month ago. I have to say, it is the first upbeat grief song I’ve come upon (at least as I interpret it). I suppose other such songs of lost love exist, but perhaps this one song perked my ears only because it came across my path at a time when my spirit was able to receive such notions. PLAY— Song: When You Really Loved Someone. November 2, 2014.
