I’m at a time in my life where I’m ready for something new. I’m a poet, artist and yoga instructor. This blog will follow my trip on the Appalachian Trail. Several well-meaning people have questioned the wisdom of me hiking. I made up my mind while talking to a well-known poet. Thru-hiking the Appalachian Trail. October 8, 2016. Mother Earth and I hiked the last twenty miles of trail in Mass. that I had to skip when my hip stopped working. This part of trail went up over October mountain, which I found to be both perfectly suited and ironic. It was so different now, the leaves were covering the trail and falling on us as we walked. Thru-hiking the Appalachian Trail. July 27, 2015. Bill and Amy took care of me as I recovered from oral surgery. They contacted their family dentist who came to the house, picked me up and worked on my teeth ON HIS DAY OFF. Then let me hang out in their house. I wouldn’t be on trail without this generosity. I owe them everything! I also have two new awesome friends in the trail community. The RPH maintenance crew is also super amazing! I went skydiving on the 5th of July with trail angel Bill!
