I been suffering from a condition which leaves me lethargic, runny nose, itchy eye lids, burning lungs and constricted throat. Hay fever. A hyper sensitivity by the autoimmune system to pollen. A truthful insight into the life an athlete training to London 2012. Monday, 12 September 2011. The started well. Actually promising. I started with a 21.09 in the 200m after my 2nd race of the season. But during my 3rd race I managed pull up with a a 10cm tear in my quad. Basically ending my season. 4 weeks later I had my first race. it encapsulated my season promising season which fell to live up to expectation. 48.2 was my reward. I raced a wek later to run 47.9. This year we have changed the training schedule away from the normal British format of track days on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday. The first month is always acclimatisation into training.
