I'm a relative novice in the serious artisan bread category but make up for it with high enthusiasm. I look forward to many fine loaves in the company of the Fresh from the Oven folks. Disemployed
http://nevercomehome.blogspot.com/2009/06/i-forgot-to-post-about-my-blind-date.html
Sunday, June 14, 2009. I forgot to post about my blind date with Gerald last week. When I was guessing that he'd be a perve, and cheap, I was only half right. We went to The Ledbury. In Notting Hill, and as we walked through the door, I realized Gerald wasn't cheap. When he called for me, Gerald was wearing a pin stripe suit. You're probably having visions of Daniel Craig. Think more in terms of a chubby lawyer with a jagged bowl cut- kind of Cadfael. Minus the monk's robes. After about an hour, I hit ma...

Disemployed: Tuesday, Part 2
http://nevercomehome.blogspot.com/2009/06/tuesday-part-2.html
Tuesday, June 2, 2009. Tuesday, Part 2. This story begins with ponies, and ends with being bullied into a blind date. I'm doing an embroidery project (have done no work on it in days- too consistently hungover to be trusted with a needle). I call it Happy Ponies. It will be a triptych, rendered in pillows. Ponies, butterflies, and bunnies everywhere. So, you say his head was bashed in with a blunt instrument? Could you pass the strawberry jam? Thinking about all this, I hear the magic ding! Sorry Ive bee...

Sunday, June 28, 2009. Embarrassing Myself in London, Part 1. The Lakes District vacation was perfect- just what Clarissa and I needed before returning to a debaucherous weekend in London. By midnight Saturday I wished I'd never come back. The momentous something: Arthur was unbelievably, catastrophically hot. How could he possibly be related to Gerald? I looked back at Clarissa- I could see she felt equally confused, and cheated. Hmph- not my problem. I turned back to Arthur. He slammed on the accel...

Disemployed: Tuesday, Part 1
http://nevercomehome.blogspot.com/2009/06/tuesday-part-1.html
Monday, June 1, 2009. Tuesday, Part 1. The weather was gorgeous yesterday so we went to Prospect of Whitby. On the Thames, and sat outside. I know I had Old Speckled Hen. At least two. Then other beer. All delicious. Today: chilly and cloudy. Ick. I only, barely, have three friends here, so I have to space them out. No one I know is coming to visit this week, probably because I left Chicago unexpectedly just three days ago. This means.sigh.I have to keep myself occupied. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Living a natural healthy lifestyle in a sea of chaos. September 10, 2008 in Family life and ramblings. I know I’ve not written anything on my blog for a while but there has been so much going on at this end. We have finally got most of the renovation finished, just waiting on some new doors coming and then we can actually sit down and relax on an evening! I don’t know… forty one years old and I’m still getting told off by my parents! Hi and thank you for visiting my blog. Family life and ramblings. Creat...

Living a natural healthy lifestyle in a sea of chaos. Have you made your mincemeat yet? November 16, 2008 in Uncategorized. I am so late making mine this year! Its the thing that marks the beginning of the autumn season in our house. The wonderful aroma that fills the house from the fresh fruit and spices lasts all day and is just heavenly! I make it with vegetable suet as my son is a vegetarian. For the pastry I always use the self raising/all butter recipe. I know its not the traditional way but it...
