apothecary of thoughts: WHORE WARS: ARABIC POP DIVAS TAKE ON THE HOMOSOCIAL ORDER
http://apothecaryofthoughts.blogspot.com/2009/04/whore-wars-arabic-pop-divas-take-on.html
Friday, April 24, 2009. WHORE WARS: ARABIC POP DIVAS TAKE ON THE HOMOSOCIAL ORDER. The post below is a research paper I made for school. It is in no way meant to degrade anyone. On the contrary, it is an observation made with the utmost respect in mind. The word "whore" is used as an appropriation, to talk back to the people using this adjective. It's a little censored to avoid problems. I BACKGROUND/THE ARABIC MEDIA SCENE. II OBJECTIVE AND METHODOLOGY. A CODES AND CONVENTIONS. Perhaps one of the most in...

apothecary of thoughts: May 2008

Sunday, May 18, 2008. I'm dying, you see. Until it hit me again. So how can one use such a realization? The illusion of impermanence is not all that we can be relieved of with the realization of death. Other illusions that can be dispelled are:. How many times do I decide not to fall into certain traps only to walk into them with my own “free” will? Are my opinions really freely formed? What we say and do is relative to the conditions around us. We cannot exist independently of them. The definiti...6 We ...

apothecary of thoughts: On life, love, sex, and the (vain) pursuit of happiness
http://apothecaryofthoughts.blogspot.com/2008/01/on-life-love-sex-and-vain-pursuit-of.html
Saturday, January 12, 2008. On life, love, sex, and the (vain) pursuit of happiness. Am I living a good life? How do we measure how well a person is living? What measuring stick holds truest? When I’m on my death bed, will I be able to say that I lived well without suspecting secret disagreement from loved ones around me? Will my brothers and sisters agree? Will I imagine a smirk on my cousin’s face? Will I believe my friends’ pats on my shoulder? Will my partner break down and cry? So then, what is love?

apothecary of thoughts: December 2007
http://apothecaryofthoughts.blogspot.com/2007_12_01_archive.html
Sunday, December 16, 2007. So here's a thought. This is what i would look like if I were a super hero. :). Links to this post. Sunday, December 9, 2007. Since the title of this whole Blog revolves around the idea of thoughts, it is only befitting that I try to reach an understanding of what thoughts are. About them. ☺. So why worry about this? What’s important about those thoughts? If I examine them, will I be considered as taking a backdoor into psychoanalysis? What are those entities? A thought can lea...

apothecary of thoughts: Saucy Tales and Bikini Veils (Excerpt)
http://apothecaryofthoughts.blogspot.com/2008/01/saucy-tales-and-bikini-veils.html
Tuesday, January 8, 2008. Saucy Tales and Bikini Veils (Excerpt). Now apparently I've 'grown up' and, suddenly, I see myself getting smiles, often sympathetic, sometimes hypocritical, and at times empty. I hear myself being branded with both good and bad adjectives. I'm frequently reassured that I'm only reacting, that I'm passing through a phase, and that I'll change with time. Who doesn’t! Every moment in life is a phase. That doesn’t change what’s going on in its span. They're just as veiled as the wo...

apothecary of thoughts: Gravity -episode 1
http://apothecaryofthoughts.blogspot.com/2008/01/gravity-episode-1.html
Thursday, January 31, 2008. January 31, 2008 at 10:41 AM. It's something i was working on a while back but never got a chance to finish. I have a few episodes written but not yet illustrated. I am not a cartoonist so I'm having a blast illustrating them :) -old vinyls and stuff like that are helping. You may notice in the next episode a Janis Joplin or an old rock group appearing in place of my characters. :). January 31, 2008 at 12:39 PM. It's a graphic novel instead, no? You know where to find me ;-).

Monday, February 11, 2008. May all beings everywhere. Plagued by sufferings of body and mind,. Obtain an ocean of happiness and joy. By virtue of my merits. May no living creature suffer,. Commit evil or ever fall ill. May no one be afraid or belittled,. With a mind weighed down by depression. May the blind see forms,. And the deaf hear sounds. May those whose bodies are worn with toil. Be restored on finding repose. May the naked find clothing,. The hungry find food;. May the thirsty find water. Gravity...
