Not all those who wander are lost. Wednesday, November 26, 2014. Here's the thing, when I started writing my blog, I was very sure that I was not doing it for anyone else, I was doing it purely for me, I did not want to get conscious of my future audience while I was writing it. I want to write for its own sake and then if someone reads it, its at their own risk and if they like it or not its a side effect from my point of view. The audience and their reaction was not what I was working towards. Sunday, ...

Not all those who wander are lost. Saturday, March 10, 2012. I just read two asimov books in two days, so that was a hark back to the olden days when i used to read a book a day, i have not done that in ages. The ones I read just now were, Foundation and Empire, and Second Foundation. Links to this post. Labels: Books I am reading. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). I would actually like feedback so if you have a sec, drop a line or more :). What I write about. Apni khud ki kavitaayen. Books I am reading.

Incidentally Speaking: En route to E : In the flight

http://transient1.blogspot.com/2014/06/en-route-to-e-in-flight.html

Not all those who wander are lost. Thursday, June 26, 2014. En route to E : In the flight. I am not able to sleep. I am not able to read. I am not happy with the leg room. I am quite miserable right at this moment. Which is crazy really because I had been looking forward to the flight. Travelling without kids has seemed fun for the last 7 years. Lil ones on this plane right now with me, I really am, but I am not thinking of this as too much fun. The book is his too. So I let him have that. He did...I hav...

Incidentally Speaking: May 2012

http://transient1.blogspot.com/2012_05_01_archive.html

Not all those who wander are lost. Tuesday, May 8, 2012. The lovely bones - Alice Seobold. It is a disturbing book about a little girl who is raped and murdered by a neighbor who never gets caught and what is more has the audacity to pretend to comfort the grieving mother. The very subject is gruesome. It is more horrifying to read it as a mother. Why did I put myself through that torture? I guess I was hoping to see the man caught and punished. Does that happen? Would you still want this thing then?

Incidentally Speaking: Yellowknife!!

http://transient1.blogspot.com/2014/06/yellowknife.html

Not all those who wander are lost. Monday, June 23, 2014. All I have on my mind these days is yellowknife. I am going there. I don't know why. I cannot remember since when I have wanted to go there. I have never known why. Just that the name attracts me. Something about the name sounds so romantic and forlorn that I just have to go and see it for myself. It doesn't hurt that there would be near 20 hour daylight round about now. But then I know so little about it. What does that say about me? I guess I am.

Incidentally Speaking: April 2012

http://transient1.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html

Not all those who wander are lost. Saturday, April 28, 2012. Love is a verb not a noun. Asks vaijanthimala of Rajender Kumar in Saathi. I loved that thought, it is beautiful, isn't it? But I digress, back to the thought. It is very nice , it gets us to focus on the things that we control and helps us let go of stuff that is beyond us. Now where did I read, that love is a verb, not a noun, and hence statements like ' I dont love him anymore' are self defeating. Why don't you? Links to this post.

The Quintessential Indian: June 2011

What I see. What I feel. Sunday, June 05, 2011. Ba-Ba Ramdev have you any shame. no sir no sir I only want fame. The Great Indian Tamasha continues to amuse the World. And this time it features Baba Ramdev. It seems Ramdev (sorry Mr. Baba, you don't get my regards) was fed up of crunching his stomach and holding his breath and decided to take plunge in politics. As is one Anna Hazare was not enough for this nation, we suddenly had another '. Ramdev himself admitted that 99% didn't. Such shamlessness!

What I see. What I feel. Monday, September 23, 2013. I was at a watch store sometime back in the quaint town I live in. As, this was not a metro city, I decided to take my chances and ask the big question "Do you keep HMT watches? The elderly gentleman on the other side of the counter gave me a side long glance and smiled. "Woh to bahut pehle ati thi". He said adding "I have several other brands, why don't you try those? So what was it that got me hooked? I had to have this watch, at any price! Is this a...

The Quintessential Indian: Taking time out

http://sudeep-the-quintessential-indian.blogspot.com/2011/05/taking-time-out.html

What I see. What I feel. Tuesday, May 24, 2011. I've recently joined my new employer. Well not too recently either, it's been nine months now. I am a consultant now. An average consultant spends a lot of his life travelling. His travel plans are unplanned and bizarre. My second and the most recent trip was to Chandigarh, Jammu and Simla. I've often discussed this with my colleagues and they tell me how difficult it is to be a tourist at a place you are visiting for business. I, however disagree. Am not s...

What I see. What I feel. Tuesday, May 24, 2011. I was at a chemist's shop waiting patiently for the sales person at the counter to get free. He was busy dealing with a lady who had come to buy some 'salt solution' which the doctor had prescribed her to wash the dentures of her son. The bottle costed Rs 60 and the lady was visibly upset at spending so much for a one time wash of the dentures. She asked the sales person if it was alright to wash the dentures in warm salted water to which he replied. On my ...

The Quintessential Indian: Remembering Pearl

http://sudeep-the-quintessential-indian.blogspot.com/2012/05/remembering-pearl.html

What I see. What I feel. Thursday, May 03, 2012. At times I start living in the past. Sitting on my sofa at this late hour my mind has wandered back to the age of. To the age of the romance of the ever-so-old Ashok Kumar and the effervescent Peral Padamsee. What a beautiful name she had. I must have been a kid when I saw that movie and the image of the doting plum Parsi mother continues to be as fresh. I guess it is her name. Pearl. A gem! She has that sweet and mystic aura around her. I, Me, Myself.

What I see. What I feel. Sunday, August 22, 2010. A friend and my ex-roommate, Nanda, returned from the US of A today for a small vacation after a gap of 6 months. My first reaction as I entered my apartment, and saw him staring at me in my face, was -. You are still in the same clothes you left India in! And the memories of the past flashed by. Happy Memories. What I see. What I feel. Tuesday, July 12, 2011. It was the first Saturday after I had got my new car. A shining metallic red curvaceous vehicle! Me and wifey had gone for a movie. The punch line of the title read "Shit happens". As could have been expected of me, all through the stairs to the third floor of the complex, I just could not take my eyes off my new darling. After all, it was standing out in the open, right next to the two wheeler parking. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). This ...

Nothing profound, just words passing through. November 30, 2010 by transientact. One of my grandson’s favorite foods is waffles. He used to like them frozen out of a box – that started when he was teething and frozen waffles seemed to soothe his gums. He’s graduated to the real deal now. He’s a very picky eater, believing not in the pyramid of food groups but in a tiny mound of individual food items. Waffles for breakfast. Only. Of course they stopped and ate.
