The transplanted project: myth be told. Presents: "Myth Be Told", an exploration of Caribbean folklore and mythology. Visual artists explore the rich history of the Caribbean, reinterpreting, re-imagining, and in some cases flipping the myth on its ear. The "Myth be Told" opening reception was a success! I'd like to congratulate the organizer, participating artists, and guests on a great night. The show runs through June 6, 2011:. New York, NY 10013. Here are some photos of the event. The Transplanted Panda | A Chinese-Canadian teaching in Korea

A Chinese-Canadian teaching in Korea. A Glorious Return (for a day). Asymp; 1 Comment. Welcome to the main street. The signage on the bus terminal brags to the world: We’ve arrived. Gone were the imbalanced gravel that screamed “under construction”. In their place were new rubbery sidewalks that provided a spring in my step. The view from the entrance of Haeryong. Not a lot has changed, but if you look closely you’ll see a 7/11 now. Playing Scrabble with the students. I spent the morning in Hayley’...

The Transplanted Peach

Gettysburg, PA family getaway. We took advantage of the long weekend to head to Gettysburg for Labor Day. Cookie in a cannon. On the lookout…. Checking out Devil’s Den with Daddy. Hanging out with a Confederate soldier. On the way home we also stopped by the Antietam National Battlefield Park. We saw quite a lot for our 3 days-two national battlefields and Eisenhower’s home! We had a great time and plan to head back when little F is a bit older when we can go through the park at a more leisurely pace!

Thursday, June 4, 2015. The Plastic is IN! What more can I say? This has been a great experience. Tuesday, May 19, 2015. Now that I am the pilot (that phrase still sounds quite odd to me) I have been getting out here and there to celebrate my achievement. But also comes the reality of flying versus daily obligations. There is a battle between flying and daily chores and obligations. This includes the need to finish other goals including starting my insurance and retirement planning business. All I can sa...

Transplanted Prairie Girl

The continuing adventures of a Prairie Girl transplanted. Sunday, February 26, 2012. I was getting all excited about the coming spring. The grass was starting to appear, robins showing up, and the tree buds are starting to plump up. Robins: February 22nd, 2012. But then we get a rude wake up call. Winter isn't quite done with us yet. A good ol' winter storm to dump about 8" of snow on us in a 24 hr span. Snow-pocalyse: February 24th, 2012. Wednesday, February 8, 2012. My Favourite Time Of Day. Well I mad...

Transplanted Taste Buds

Wednesday, October 6, 2010. These muffins are ridiculously addictive. They are moist and apple-y and pretty much evoke New England fall. Though this recipe calls for a bit more ingredients than normal, I think you'll find them to be very easy to make. Oh-and your house will smell divine when they are baking. 2 T Packed Dark Brown Sugar. 1 T Unsalted Butter, Cold-cut into cubes. 2 T Chopped Nuts-Optional (I always leave the nuts out-I like my baked goods female). 1 1/2 t. Baking Powder. 1/2 t Baking Soda.
