When, Where, and some other tips on a Perfect Vacation. The City of Canals – Venice. After leaving our behind, we got onto a train bound for Venice. The train ride was not very long, but the waters we passed over were remarkably blue. We were only going to venice for the day, as part of our itinerary of Italy. When we got out of the train station, the first thing we saw was the Grand Canal. We decided to take a trip on it. We finally found it in the form of an inconspicuous pizzeria. Date : July 15, 2009.
