Adventures of the Traveling Zeagers. Wednesday, July 22, 2015. Day 2: July 14 Effingham to Manhattan. On the second day of our drive, we made it to Manhattan, KS. On the way, we had 2 field trips. First a short stop at Graham Cave State Park, where we had ALSO been before. Then a longer stop at Powell Gardens outside of Kansas City. It was amazing! And SOOO hot. We walked around for a couple of hours though and got some good food in their cafe. We liked this old bed that was being used in a veggie garden.

Today, we packed up the cabin in Grand Lake and headed across Rocky Mountain National Park on Trail Ridge Road. This is a view from "Fairview Overlook". These two are panoramic shots from the alpine visitor center. It was really cold and wet! The elevation here is 11,796 feet and we could definitely feel it. Adventures of the Traveling Zeagers. Monday, July 20, 2015. Vacation 2015 - Rocky Mountain NP. I thought some people might like to see more pictures than I'll put on Facebook, so here they are! Day 1 - July 13 - We traveled to Effingham IL. Field trip of the day was to Cascade Falls State Park. The falls were really roaring! We realized when we pulled in the parking lot that we had been here before. We headed back to the highway when these scary clouds showed up. The river was already really high.

Adventures of the Traveling Zeagers. Thursday, July 23, 2015. July 20 in Estes Park. Today we didn't take a hike in nature! Instead we stayed in town and toured the Stanley Hotel. It's a famous old hotel, built by the guys who invented the Stanley Steamer car. A very cool old hotel. Stephen King used it as the inspiration for the Overlook hotel in The Shining, after staying here for a night at the end of the season. The tour was really fun. We loved this fountain and sculpture on the front lawn.

In our last episode, we learned that the Evil Chimney Monster was shooting mortar onto the roof. Notice the hole on the left side. Mister Mason Man came to the rescue on Wednesday and put the Chimney Monster in it's place. Take that, Chimney Monster! Wow, my yard looks horrible.
