Travelling in a Box: June 2015
http://travellinginabox.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html
Travelling in a Box. Sofa travel notes from Mike Wood - probably the most untravelled travel writer in the world. Thursday, 25 June 2015. It was all going so well until the soap bubbles started coming out of the wardrobe. There are bubbles coming out of the wardrobe! But more on that later. The site itself is excellent. There is even an electric hookup - very rare on a THS - so my fears of having to ration the battery life on my laptop are unfounded. Yes, suds were coming out from under the wardrobe door...

Travelling in a Box. Sofa travel notes from Mike Wood - probably the most untravelled travel writer in the world. Sunday, 19 April 2015. With Sheila Kiggins outside Camping and Caravan Club Offices. For me, the big event was my first visit to the London Book Fair at Olympia. I hadn’t appreciated just how big this event was. I had my smart phone step counter switched on and realized later that I’d done nearly seven miles walking around the exhibition space. Seven miles! Labels: Camping and Caravanning Club.

Travelling in a Box. Sofa travel notes from Mike Wood - probably the most untravelled travel writer in the world. Saturday, 22 February 2014. For our season opener in 2014 we have come to The National Forest. In the East Midlands. There were no trees here a few years ago. Now they have planted over eight million of them, and it seems to be a fantastic idea. Could there be any better way of revitalising a blighted, industrially scarred area? I can't think of one. They have done wonders with the canal, it'...

Travelling in a Box. Sofa travel notes from Mike Wood - probably the most untravelled travel writer in the world. Thursday, 5 March 2015. Season Opener - Oxford. A so-so photo of Radcliffe Square enhanced beyond all recognition and without prompting by Google. Thanks guys. Well, you could ask for an old ham, and even here Oxford delivers. The world's oldest ham, in fact, hanging in a butcher's in the market, with a certificate to prove it. I love this. A whole year beckons. Location: Oxford, Oxford, UK.

Travelling in a Box. Sofa travel notes from Mike Wood - probably the most untravelled travel writer in the world. Saturday, 14 February 2015. 2015 Caravan Season – The Prologue. Then I start to wonder about how the hall might have looked back in 1765 when it was new. The marble floors were perfect and unmarked. There would have been a smell of paint and fresh plaster everywhere, a little like going into a Wimpy show-home but factored up a bit. The park would be, I don’t know, bare? Or as a paperback.

Travelling in a Box. Sofa travel notes from Mike Wood - probably the most untravelled travel writer in the world. Tuesday, 23 April 2013. Back in an Alpine. We bought on old Avondale, and she was okay, but suffered from damp. She did the trick for 10 years but the damp was always going to win. She was a comfortable ‘van but I have to confess I always missed the little Alpine and her quirky eccentricities. She’s wonderful. She’s called Sally. Sally Swift. I’m moaning a lot, aren’t I? Or as a paperback.

Travelling in a Box. Sofa travel notes from Mike Wood - probably the most untravelled travel writer in the world. Tuesday, 22 July 2014. What makes for a good caravan site location? So what makes for a good caravan site location? Shelter from sun and wind. Right now I'm in Weymouth, at a Dorset DA temp site. The big thrill for us was finding that it's only an eight minute walk to a big, bright, air-conditioned Sainsbury's. Oh, and the other thing: we love Weymouth. The old harbour, the eateries, the ...

Travelling in a Box. Sofa travel notes from Mike Wood - probably the most untravelled travel writer in the world. Thursday, 22 August 2013. Brixham with Notts DA. This site has air that supercharges the lungs, and laylines that make you want to lie down in the field and sleep, with or without a caravan. Sadly it's our last night night, for all good things must end. The site is about to close, but we know we will be back. Thank you Notts. DA, it has been, once again, a real treat. Thursday, 15 August 2013.

My Book of Fall. And questions give us no rest. We must know that we may know. Me – The Falling Artist. Representation VS Good Representation. I already am what I’m going to become: I’m a journalist. travelling in a campervan
Travelling in a campervan. Travelling in a campervan. Welcome to Travelling In a Campervan. Just started this blog to document our campervan travels and describe the freedom such travel gives. We decided our first trip would be from Ireland to Morocco and back. We allowed 3 months for this trip which is too short as we spent one and a half months in Morocco and feel we did not see the half of it. Will definitely go back there. People are great and the food is brilliant. So I hope you enjoy it. As the fam...

An Australian Adventure - a la McGrath | Our Family Ramblings – Take two posts before bed and call me in the morning
An Australian Adventure – a la McGrath. Our Family Ramblings – Take two posts before bed and call me in the morning. It’s a Wrap. The McGraths are back in town. It is a surreal feeling. Have we really been away for 9.5 months? It is difficult to describe in words the feeling of reversing into our driveway. I know there is a deep sense of happiness, it just has risen to the surface yet. Honolulu Grill for pancakes and coffee. I am going to find it hard sharing my family again. A very selfish thought I...

Travelling in Baroque 2015
Travelling in Baroque in.
