Pirate Travels: April 2007
http://find-kate.blogspot.com/2007_04_01_archive.html
Wednesday, April 25, 2007. While in Chile with Chris and Lacey, we decided some surfing was definately in order. We went to the only surfshop in Vina del Mar, and they didn't rent boards but suggested we call a dude named Pato who rents them and gives lessons. So we got all hooked up to do some surfing the next day. We were a little concerned about getting cold cause the ocean was FREEZING! There was steam coming off of the water. it was like a bathtub! Then we found this huge dead squid on the beach!

Pirate Travels: December 2006

Thursday, December 28, 2006. Merry Christmas and Happy New Years! Angel Falls was amazing, and a highlight was going for a swim in the pool at the bottom! The whole area is really beautiful, with more tepuis and waterfalls than i could count! I spent Christmas on the coast in Puerto Colombia, a town famous for it s beautiful beach and tamborin, these crazy drum beats that kept me awake every night! Met up with a guy from Caracas, and two Canadian girls, and right now I m staying with them in Caracas.

Tuesday, January 23, 2007. Random pic of the day! Posted by Kate at 11:28 AM. Thursday, January 18, 2007. Spent the last 3 days on the most beautiful beach of my life, Parque Tayrona on the Caribbean coast of Colombia. Turquoise water, white sand, huge boulders, palm trees, coconuts, mountains, mud baths, and best of all tons of friendly Colombians! I have decided that I will spend at least one month of my life living on a Caribbean beach and being a pirate! Maybe also some fried fish and rum! So, I have...

Pirate Travels: February 2007
http://find-kate.blogspot.com/2007_02_01_archive.html
Wednesday, February 28, 2007. We were representing Canada with our group of 3 Canadians and one honorary Canuck from Colorado. The area was soooooo gorgeous. I had a hard time deciding which pictures to put up. The first day our guides were to give us an overview of mountaineering technique. I was thinking self-arrests, how to walk in crampons, that sort of thing. No, actually we went ice climbing on a glacier! Little did I know that this was to prepare us for what was to come! Posted by Kate at 9:22 AM.

Luke and Dave's motorcycle journey through East Africa to raise money and awareness for the orphans of Rwanda. Saturday, August 29, 2009. Day 20 - August 30, 2009. Yesterday we rode the last 280km from Nairobi back to where it all began, in Arusha. It seems surreal, and I can't believe that it's over, although I think that Dad and I are going to really enjoy a few days of relaxation at the Ilboru Safari Lodge. Thank you so much to everyone that has supported us by reading the blog, praying for us, and te...

Monday, November 27, 2006. The road to El Pauji. First off, sorry for the lack of photos; i tried to upload some last week and after 1/2 hour of waiting I gave up. So you might have to wait until I m out of Santa Elena and in a city with better internet for some pics. but there will be some I promise! This past weekend I went to a small village called El Pauji. It was quite the gong show! Intersections are basically a free for all, and pedestrians definately do not have any right of way! In El Pauji we w...

Tuesday, March 13, 2007. The city that never sleeps. Here s me really bored on a 20 hour bus ride! Buenos Aires is sooooo cool! And I m not even a city person. Here s why:. 2 Delicious steaks that practically cut themselves (plus they re cheap! 3 You can drink the water and not die! 4 Beer is cheaper than (bottled) water. Plus they have real beer (Stella, Heineken) unlike every other country I ve been in that has gross watery beer. $1us for 1L of beer! 8 I haven t been sick since I got here! Here s some ...
