Misty Fjords National Monument | Where is Yvette?

One girl in the world. The Best of…. Dispatch from the Yukon →. Misty Fjords National Monument. August 9, 2014. First of all, I feel obliged to mention that Misty Fjords National Monument did not live up to its name at all. This is because we had spectacular blue sky weather that only happens about 5% of the time in the Ketchikan area, so the fjords were not at all misty but I don’t think anyone was complaining! A bunch of harbor seals playing by a waterfall…. 8221;) It’s great. August 9, 2014 at 7:36 pm.

WELCOME to the NEW ADDRESS! Day 14 - Pampa de Lenas to Mendoza. Itching for a Change. We were ready to roll long before the 9:00am starting target. The sun hadn't fully crept into the valley and the team was on the move. After a very long day yesterday, everyone was ready to put the period at the end of this run-on sentence. The longer approach was a great introduction, but the desire for a cold beer and hot shower made the reverse seem protracted. The first finishers had made an actual "finish line" ...

WELCOME to the NEW ADDRESS! 050208 - Qosq'o (Cuzco). It is not "corny" to aptly describe the oldest continuously inhabited city in South America as "grand". Qosq'o has become an amalgamation of firm Inca foundations, topped with colonial architecture. Look up to catch a glimpse of exquisitely crafted towers, . Or enjoy a fountain-side moment. The senses seem to be stimulated by the emitting energy of this former capital city. Western Qosq'o is known for artisan neighborhoods. Hand crafted door...On the...

WELCOME to the NEW ADDRESS! 042208 - To Rurrenabaque and Beyond. No Pampering in the Pampa. One hour by plane or 16, bathroom deprived, hours by bus. hmmm, choices, choices? Bolivians can be strict in their protocol, even in the tiniest of airports. We found it a little comical, and joked about feeling "safe" after seeing the sole contents of the local fire management team resting in the plane's shadow. Rurrenabaque is "jungle quaint", reminding me of parts of Cambodia. We even noticed that so...Touris...

WELCOME to the NEW ADDRESS! 050108 - To Cuzco. Elevated by the potential of the day, Puno actually looked picturesque, passing by through UV tinted windows and low spectrum morning light. Over the first rise, the shallow bay side depths of Lake Titicaca spawned thick groves of totora reeds. The volume needed to serve as a useful resource for crafting boats, houses, and floating islands now came into perspective. In the same way that the American Southwest draws its own beauty. The day's schedule included...

WELCOME to the NEW ADDRESS! Beagle Channel Cruise and Beyond. Did not disappoint this morning. Fog hung in the Fuegan. Andes peaks, making the scene “other worldly”. Our collective objective for the day was to head down most of the length of the Beagle Channel to see sea lions, penguins, Porto Williams, and the first estancia. Behind via tour boat gave the first panoramic views of the Beagle Channel setting. Our first stop was a rock outcropping covered in sea lions and gulls. Penguins are always a sigh...
