Holy smoke – at Triund | Scriblerus

https://travelscribble.wordpress.com/2009/05/18/trek-to-triund

Stay updated via RSS. Holy smoke – at Triund. Posted: May 18, 2009 in Travel. The sight of snow in the month of April, as temperature in Delhi soared to 43 C, was spectacular to say the least. I felt dizzy with excitement as though high on ecstasy or some of the local stuff that was being sold a few slopes below. Our cause was not helped by the fact that I made it a point to stop at every turn to shoot a picture of what lay above, below, in front and all around. Triund being one of the more popular treks...

Stay updated via RSS. The Living Roots Bridge. Posted: May 3, 2011 in Travel. Cautioned, forewarned and discouraged. But if there was one thing that we wanted to do on our trip to the north-east part of India, it was to walk on the Living Roots Bridge at Cherrapunjee. The name itself drew enough curiosity and the four of us were armed with little more than that. Throwing caution to the wind and waving bye to Raja, the four of us jogged down broad sandstone steps. With forest on either side, we observ...

I asked… | Scriblerus

Stay updated via RSS. Posted: July 12, 2009 in Writing. Dear Literary Ladies,. Where do you go looking for plots? Did your stories once begin with just a title in your head? Did you have a mundane thought that you somehow developed into a plot? I enjoy writing and am satisfied with my craft but sometimes feel that I must be really dull or lack imagination. I might add that I am especially fond of children’s literature and fantasy. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. My Two Cents on Ujjain.

My Experiments with Nikon: Lotus Temple (Baha'i temple)

http://i-clicked-these.blogspot.com/2008/12/lotus-temple-bahai-temple.html

My Experiments with Nikon. Sunday, December 28, 2008. Lotus Temple (Baha'i temple). One of the famous tourist spots, Lotus Temple. This beautiful piece of art is right next to Nehru Place (South Delhi) and opposite to the Kalka Mandir. It looks beautiful in the night, out of this world I must say. Unfortunately I don't have a good speed light, else I would have posted some of the night shots. Whatever here are couple of images that I feel were worth sharing. Nice blog :) post more. My Experiments with Nikon: Neemrana Fort (Part 1)

http://i-clicked-these.blogspot.com/2008/07/neemrana-fort-part-1.html

My Experiments with Nikon. Saturday, July 19, 2008. Neemrana Fort (Part 1). My trip to Neemrana fort was memorable. I have been there twice but I still want to go to that place but next time with a better lens and better flash. I wanted to capture Neemrana in night with the lights on but unfortunately I couldnt capture that in either of my visits. The thought of spending a night there is quite scary but I guess I would take the pictures and drive back home. Location: Neemrana, Rajasthan, India.

Dear Literary Ladies: How can a writer balance solitude and camaraderie?

http://dearliteraryladies.blogspot.com/2010/08/how-can-writer-balance-solitude-and.html

A writer's haven by Nava Atlas. How can a writer balance solitude and camaraderie? Posted by Nava Atlas. Monday, August 9, 2010. Reprising a post from a year ago:. Dear Literary Ladies,. How can a writer balance the need for quiet and solitude, with the desire for camaraderie? When I’m alone, working, I feel the need for feedback; and when I’m among colleagues, talking about my work, I feel I’m seeking too much outside validation. 8212;Sarah Orne Jewett, in a letter to Willa Cather, ca. 1909. Comment-link {margin-left:.6em;}. Sunday, May 07, 2006. TTT (Trek To Triund). My second post on trekking! I did mention about my North India trip in a previous post but I am writing this one to describe what was probably the most exciting part of my trip - a trek up the Himalayas. Here is a photo from the place where he turned back. On our way, we met 4 guys from Delhi. Obviously, freak ruffians, they joined us in our mission upwards. Patches of snow lying around like this one. View at the top. Terrifyin...
