These are not just drainage ditches, although that certainly is their main function. They carry quite a bit of water from the the residential areas. Located in the basement of Sogo department store in Chiba Japan, is the tiny Sanwa restaurant. It servers basically just one dish and has a counter to seat only 8 people.
