Are We There Yet??: "Walkin' Myelin & Myel-out" to Help Support a Friend

Tuesday, February 24, 2015. Walkin' Myelin and Myel-out" to Help Support a Friend. On April 19th, I will be participating in the 2015 Walk MS in Narragansett, Rhode Island. As part of team "Walkin' Myelin and Myel-out." The team is captained by my friend Renee Holder and so far a little over $1,900 has been raised of the team's $2,500 goal - with most of that being raised by Renee who personally battles MS every single day of her life. The high-resolution file (that won't include a watermark! View my com...

Are We There Yet??: July 2012

Friday, July 27, 2012. Nosing Around in My HDHP. The best part is that once I make that deductible for the year (in my case it's $2,000) everything else for the year is paid 100% so if I know there's going to be a year when I might need to have a lot done (like this year) it behooves me to have my appointments and meet my deductible early which is the long way around explaining why I've had a lot of doctor's appointments this month! Which he said was going to sting - a lot. Guess what? Yep, they did!

Tuesday, January 29, 2013. Yep I reckon that's about how things seem at this here blog but it's certainly not because I haven't been blogging as I've been writing about all kinds of things over at The Distracted Wanderer. And Travels With Nathaniel. I'm finally starting to catch up on some of my adventures with Claire this past fall and as I took SO many photos, it's taking a lot of time to get 'er done. That and having multiple blogs is harder than it may seem! Monday, January 14, 2013. Surely there mus...

Monday, April 30, 2012. Lighthouses . I Love 'Em and I Found 'Em! It seems to drive the girls crazy but whenever I'm in an area where there might be a lighthouse or two, I've got to go find it! And find some I did last week on our mini-holiday to Cape Cod! Please join me over on the The Distracted Wanderer as I go Wandering By Some of Cape Cod's Historic Lighthouses, Part One. And you may have seen the lighthouse above pictured on its bags in your local grocery store! Mmmm, salt and vinegar chips . This ...

Saturday, March 31, 2012. The View From The Ivory Tower. The dispatch center that I work in is situated in a room that the road crews refer to as "The Ivory Tower" due to the fact that a) the building is white and b) the room is semi-circular in design. Makes sense, right? Even though we don't have windows that open, we do have a very big floor-to-ceiling window that looks out over the City of Norwich and sometimes affords us some pretty nice views. 11-15-2011 @ 6:38 AM - another sunrise over Laurel Hill.

Saturday, February 23, 2013. It Was the Best of Times, It Was the Worst of Times" - Yep, That's February! Well, I've been back from Florida for over a week now and we still have snow outside which is highly disappointing as I gave explicit instructions for it all to be gone by the time I returned from Orlando! Perhaps I didn't say it loud enough as it's threatening to snow yet again tonight. Enough already! After climbing back down those same 219 stairs and touring the rest of the museum and grounds, we ...

Tuesday, October 30, 2012. On the Other Side of Sandy. Wow What a weekend. Watching the news this morning and seeing the devastation along the New Jersey shore, the Connecticut coastline, and the streets of New York City, I am thankful that everyone I know is safe and sound and suffered no catastrophic losses but I know that there are a lot of folks out there whose lives will probably never be the same as they assess the damage that this super storm wreaked. For now I'm going to pack up the car and we're...

Are We There Yet??: "Ordinary Boy" is No Ordinary Read
http://www.mouseski.com/2015/02/ordinary-boy-is-no-ordinary-read.html
Tuesday, February 10, 2015. Ordinary Boy" is No Ordinary Read. I've not posted anything on this blog in a very, very, very long time but I thought I'd bring it out of mothballs long enough to share a book review from Goodreads as I think this book is definitely worthy of not just reading but reviewing and recommending! My rating: 5 of 5 stars. As a rule when I think about Stacey Longo's writing I think of words like "Terrifying and scary! Growing up in The Meadows, Curtis is not one of the popular kids i...

Wednesday, September 26, 2012. A Mountaintop, Lake, and Earache - Oh My! Last Friday morning the girls and I patted Tesla on the head with directions to behave himself when Andrew came by to feed and water him, threw our stuff, in the car, and pointed ourselves to the west. Amanda was going to spend the weekend with her friend Darci in Bennington who is attending college there while Jamie and I continued on to the Lake George area of New York. The monument, was that it was open so we could climb the spir...
