Travels with Walter

This is the story of our adventures around the Inland Northwest. Monday, July 06, 2015. Otis: International Man of Mystery. Not really having a plan for Thursday night Otis and I just headed north and figured we could always stealth camp somewhere. Driving along the Pend Oreille River I saw the sign for the Edgewater Campground and got the last open spot. It was perfect. The river was lovely. But we had a nice cool treed area to rest in during the afternoon. I spent a lot of time in the trees. We also sw...

Travels with Walter: July 2006

http://www.travelswithwalter.blogspot.com/2006_07_01_archive.html

This is the story of our adventures around the Inland Northwest. Monday, July 31, 2006. An Evening on the Mountain. We did not see another person while there. Posted by Kathy at 8:59 PM. Tuesday, July 25, 2006. When I look at the Spokane River it is such a contrast to the Mississippi. The water is clear and. But at any rate, pollution or not, I still find myself drawn to the river. It is one of the things about Spokane that I find so beautiful and amazing. A good place for flatwater paddling is a...Befor...

Travels with Walter: September 2006

http://www.travelswithwalter.blogspot.com/2006_09_01_archive.html

This is the story of our adventures around the Inland Northwest. Tuesday, September 19, 2006. Yesterday Walter and I headed up to the Sherman Pass area to do another 50x50 and we took our friend Georgie along with us. Each time we saw each other last year we said we had to go skiing or hiking or something together and now we finally have. Takes just about ten minutes to get there, winding around the sparse trees and sage brush. Under it and Georgie, a pack rat after my own heart, was trying to get it out...

Travels with Walter: O! Canada!

http://www.travelswithwalter.blogspot.com/2015/06/o-canada.html

This is the story of our adventures around the Inland Northwest. Monday, June 22, 2015. We spent the weekend north of Spokane along the Kettle River about 5 miles from the Canadian border. We were entirely alone and other than Otis, the border patrol guys were the only people I talked to the entire weekend. I finally got the plastic storage out of the van. Along the side is the clip on support for my shade canopy. The grommets in the tarp clip into eye screws with carabiners. Petal had a good time. On Su...

This is the story of our adventures around the Inland Northwest. Sunday, December 31, 2006. Here are some more photos of Ellen and me at Fall Creek. Yes, that is me checking out a dead coyote. Posted by Kathy at 2:17 PM. Friday, December 29, 2006. Hangin' in the Heartland. It is pretty incredible scenery. The train was late getting into Chicago so I only had to wait an hour to get on the next one. My plans are to just hang out with my people. My mom has already started spoiling me. Gotta love it. I am lo...

I usually have breakfast on Saturdays with only one old guy, my dad. We went to the usual truck stop, but all the tables were full. My dad's usual table was occupied by an old guy who invited us to sit with him. Although he had finished his breakfast, he stayed and visited with us. Posted by Ellen @ 2:13 PM.

Yummm.made in Chicago, by hand, in small batches. Absolutely delish, and my favorite, white chocolate raspberry. Awesome! The whole idea of this day is baffling to me. Shouldn't everyday be Valentine's Day? Why just have one day to celebrate the ones we love? And shouldn't we take some time each day to celebrate.

Travels with Will and Ginny. What the Barretts are doing now! Link to Ginny’s Art Website. Our last day in Paris. July 20, 2015. Will and Ginny Barrett. We packed in the morning… And then ate lunch at the well-known Le Comptoir, a restaurant which we tried to get into five years ago and were unable to. We were lucky this time! The chef is known for his pork dishes, hence the pig logo on this sac à vin. The beautiful “twisted column” inside the St Séverin church – gorgeous! Even the remains of Roman Baths!
