Ken's Travel Blog - A Journeyman's Companion: Vienna, Day Two
http://vacaken.blogspot.com/2012/10/vienna.html
Sunday, October 7, 2012. Vienna, Day Two. I'm feeling better today (9/30), but I'm really congested and stuffy. You know what I mean, I'm not that achy and I think my fever has broken - I'm just tired and I have a leaky nose and chest-clearing cough. The Vienna Opera House - along the Ring-Route tour. I started my day with a very decent breakfast at my hotel - included in the €88 per night. From there I decided to do the almost unthinkable - use a Rick Steves product. Many mummies (all under glass, Mom),...

Sunday, September 30, 2012. Prague, Day Three. My third day in Prague was spent in the Prague Castle complex and in bed. The throat-tickle that had started yesterday - to take a phrase from the Austrian ballad "Edelweiss" - ".began to bloom and grow." into a full-fledged, runny-nosed and fevered bad cold. I felt not so good waking up this morning (9/28), but felt steadily worse as the day went on. That being said, I wasn't going to waste a full day in Prague, so I headed for the castle. You enter the gro...

Sunday, June 9, 2013. Day-Trip Bonus - Mount Monadnock. My friend and personal fitness trainer, Fausto, invited me at the last minute to join him and his family on a hike up Mount Monadnock in Jaffrey, New Hampshire. The weather was spectacular today, so how could I have said no? Here's Fausto with his daughter tucked neatly into his pack, and his son in the lower left of the photo, examining one of the gypsy moth caterpillars that he carefully carried the entire trek up the mountain. Spray and came away...
Ken's Travel Blog - A Journeyman's Companion: October 2012

Sunday, October 14, 2012. Miscellany, For What It's Worth. 1 Salzburg was so named because it achieved importance - and riches - thanks to the salt trade and the enormous salt mine nearby, still active after all these years. The Festung had an entire building which was used to store and protect the valuable commodity. International data roaming fees . ugh! Before my next trip (you never know when that might be! I think I might ask all of my email subscribers to re-subscribe to fix this issue. 5 I forgot ...

Monday, September 30, 2013. Food and Lodging in the U.K. The long-awaited food and lodging blog entry has arrived! Sorry for the substantial delay - my Dad and I took forever to get together to share photos, and he had many of the food pictures. However, that being said, I have plenty of pictures of the best and worst of our food and lodging experiences: here they are in order of travel:. This is a twilight view of the Bridge Hotel in London. We enjoyed pub fare each of our evenings in London (except for...
Ken's Travel Blog - A Journeyman's Companion: December 2013
http://vacaken.blogspot.com/2013_12_01_archive.html
Tuesday, December 31, 2013. Montréal - Day Three. Today I explored le Réso and le Vieux Port. Le Réso is the system of underground passages in Montréal -you can be in a mall, as pictured, but you can also be in a plain corridor which nonetheless takes you to another part of the city, all without freezing. There are miles of corridors, and all of them are warm. I walked through Chinatown to reach the old part of town. It was compact, but still pretty neat. Boy, my nose looks big in the picture! I was also...

http://vacaken.blogspot.com/2013/08/london-outskirts-windsor-runnymede.html
Saturday, August 10, 2013. London Outskirts - Windsor and Runnymede. Today, 9th August my Dad and I decided to expand our explorations and venture outside London and its constituent boroughs. We checked out of our hotel and hopped the Tube to London Euston's railway station. There we deposited our suitcases with the left luggage service for 9 quid per bag - we will depart from Euston on the overnight train tonight. Windsor and Eton Rail Station, 2013. One is merely a simplified portal to the TripAdvisor content, but the TripAdvisor City Guides app is phenomenal - you can download maps and city guides for a number of cities worldwide for offline use when traveling - no need for international data roamin...

Mexico is a country bursting with life - the people are vivacious, the landscape strewn with historical gems and the nightlife tequila fuelled.
