A ramble a little too late | Traverse.US

http://traverse.us.com/2016/10/17/ramble-too-late

A ramble a little too late. October 17, 2016. Latourell Falls, in the Columbia Gorge. After you’ve spent a year tripping through all corners of the country, you can’t drive around the Northwest without taking new notice of your surroundings, almost seeing it with an outsider’s eyes. I have a fresh appreciation for a serrated ridge spattered with mist, a bleached stretch of desert, a snuff-colored basalt skyscraper. Bruce, Georgina and Tait, on a rainy afternoon. Our favorite pastime now is spending time ...

The faces in the floor | Traverse.US

http://traverse.us.com/2016/07/09/the-faces-in-the-floor

The faces in the floor. July 9, 2016. Recognizing faces is in our genes. Two eyes, a mouth, a nose between. Knotholes and nail holes are faces I see. Really just planks from an old pine tree. Once I started finding faces in the floor,. I just couldn’t help but find some more. Some look mean and some look nice. Some look like dogs, some like mice. Some are long faces, some are wide. I couldn’t find a kitty, though I tried. And I couldn’t find a face that looked like me. This entry was posted in Oddities.

Radiation therapy home stretch. Jul 7, 2014. My sisters and great nieces and I had a fun time together for our annual trip up to Pembine, Wisconsin to see my sister Donna. Last year we started the tradition of tie-dying. My sister Laurie has become the expert at it and has shared her techniques with us. I love having this time together with my sisters and the girls, it’s fun to see how creative we all can be. Our friends Bob and Bridgett ride Kevin and Karen’s pontoon boat on Paddock Lake. Thanks Janet, ...
