Water front with the piers. We are enjoying ourselves, time is flying for sure! Funny San Fran story:. Saturday, May 24, 2008.

Travis and Astrid, living in Rwanda. Wednesday, October 08, 2008. 8220;What then can I say; If God is for us, who can be against us.” Romans 8:33b. 8220;We do not fix our eyes on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” 2 Cor. 4:18. Perspectives change living this battle, I call it “the embrace of Kingdom perspective”. The unseen is what has the eternal consequences; my faith, my prayers, my declarations, my response from Kingdom ...It sounds som...

Travis and Astrid, living in Rwanda. Monday, August 04, 2008. Gilead House (Rwaza children). What happened to the Rwaza children? Many of the children were tired of the constant exploitation and lack of permanent intervention to stop the abuses and suffering they endured. Some of the children were chased away from the orphanage by the old nun as they stood up against the injustices done to them. This is where we belong, this is our home, they said. All 10 children are doing wonderful! They are blooming o...

Travis and Astrid, living in Rwanda. Sunday, April 27, 2008. Just the though of it used to give me chills down my spine, while a fear of losing controll would come over me. But here I am today finding that it really is not that bad after all. Furlough. no it did not come with a well organized and planned itinerary nor with plenty of time to pack and prepare. In retroperspective this may have been the better way. Yaida and Jasmin enjoying a nice meal. Where I can speak freely and my thoughts may be heard.

Travis & Astrid, living in Rwanda: December 2008

http://travisandastrid.blogspot.com/2008_12_01_archive.html

Travis and Astrid, living in Rwanda. Wednesday, December 03, 2008. Day to Day life. What does our day look like at the Gilead House? We have loads of fun, especially now that the children are on school break. The Rwandan school year starts in January through mid-November. A wonderful opportunity now to get the children far ahead in their English and creativity skills. After bibleclass we do creative expression class with the children. This can be anything from acting out what we read in bibleclass to...

Sunday, February 20, 2011. Maybe this day has seemed healing because my husband gifted me with sleep this morning, maybe it feels healing because I was able to get some things done that I've been wanting to get done, maybe it's because I've had a satisfying day with my boys, the little one happy with a good nap in between.Whatever it is, I am feeling good tonight. I hope Aaron knows he scored some major points! I'll make an update later on how I like the cleaners. Sweet dreams everyone! His face becomes ...

My Heart My Home: Just Breathe

http://wearethereeds.blogspot.com/2012/01/just-breathe.html

Tuesday, January 31, 2012. Anyhow, here are some pics from our day. View from Crown Point. Winter is feeling like Spring here lately! He enjoyed some bird watching with mama. Geez mom, enough pictures! An older gentleman insisted on taking our picture. We obliged, even though I really didn't want my picture taken that day. I like trees, and branches, and sticks and moss. It was a great day, wasnt it? I was out in the garden pulling, weeding, trimming, and the scent of the soil was wonderful!

My Heart My Home: Current pleasures.

http://wearethereeds.blogspot.com/2011/11/current-pleasures.html

Monday, November 28, 2011. Soaking in a long oatmeal bath while re-watching old episodes of Desperate Housewives (guilty pleasure). Making bone broth and eating soups. Lemon wedges in my water please! Heating pad on my feet. Singing very loud and shamelessly. Attempting to make music out of my piano with what little talent I posses. Dancing with my son to trendy pop songs like a couple of crazies. Driving a half hour into the country to pick up farm-fresh milk. Morning smoothies with my little guy.

Monday, January 24, 2011. Welcome to the world! My niece was born last Friday morning. She is perfect and lovely. Being an Aunt is an amazing feeling, even after having my own baby. It's a different feeling, but there is just as much love all over again! So here she is! Avery Lilja Henley- the newest little angel. Tuesday, January 11, 2011. My wheels are turning. Where did this passion come from lately? I don't know, but I like it! Keep it comin' Lord, keep it comin'! My favorite Corrie ten Boom quotes.

Friday, March 30, 2012. Rain rain go away. Above are pics of my cutie all bundled up for one of our Winter walks. Can't you tell that this is the face of a mischievous little boy? I think it's important to share our week moments and admit to losing our patience because I know it happens to everyone and hell, it feels better when you know you're not the only mom that has struggles. My Heart My Home: March 2011

http://wearethereeds.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html

Wednesday, March 30, 2011. Painting by Boris Shapiro, poem by Aaron. Rumors sailed far and wide of Coralla a mermaid bride,. Who fell in love with music made by pipers at the ocean's side,. One day she lingered far too long ,. Taken by a sad sad song,. Stranded in a tide pool when she knew she must be gone,. This is what the rumors say,. A merchant found her then that day,. At once in love with Coralla, he helped her swim away,. She kissed him well before she parted,. Left him drenched and broken hearted,.

The Linns | Some tidbits from the Linn family

Some tidbits from the Linn family. 8220;You can’t never always sometimes tell”. Brookings, South Dakota has been our home over the last 8 1/2 years. We have been blessed to call it home. During that time we have had 3 of our beautiful children, worked at the best discipleship program in the nation, made dear friends and had made some of the best memories of our life. Our intentions were to stay in Brookings indefinitely. We knew that God was pushing us out of our nest. I want to be very clear and ver...
