One of my favorite mantras in training, racing, and life in general is “go fast, take chances.” I love the idea of going a little harder than I think I can and pushing myself outside of my comfort zone. I have NOT been living this mantra since Eugene. I have been running slow (9:30s feel like tempo pace) and haven’t wanted to commit to a Fall race because I am still so discouraged by my bad race. It has been a beautiful week in Seattle and it is supposed to be in the 90s all weekend. I love love love it! Here are a few other things I am loving lately:. 1 Starbucks Iced Coffee. Perfect for warm mornings when you don't want to drink hot coffee. They have sweetened and flavored versions, but the unsweetened is excellent. 2 I have been on the hunt for new running shades and finally found a pair I like! Of course I was glad I qualified for Boston, and I felt like a tool saying I was displeased with a 10 minute PR, so I kept it to myself that I felt like I had a better race in me. So those were my goals. A very wide range, but they gave me some room to work with and kept me from being too stressed about pace or splits.
