It’s Always Something: A Review. February 3, 2012. The memoir starts with how she and Gene Wilder (most famously to my generation as Willy Wonka from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory) fell in love and became married. She is so funny right from the outset! Always painting herself as the fall-guy, Gene the straight man. I LOVE Gene Wilder. Adore him is a better word, and oh my goodness, if I thought I adored him before reading Gilda’s book, I had no idea. The man was a saint of a husband! So full of life!

March 10, 2012. Hey there, loyal readers. Lots has been going on. Goal-seeking, self-searching, redefining what’s healthy (post to come), exercising, being sick for a couple weeks, and lots and lots of reading. I’m at 18 books for the year already- the most I’ve ever read in 9 weeks. More importantly, every one of his books are funny and strange (obviously from the above sum-ups). That’s what I need in fiction sometimes- the completely absurd. Did I convince you to get to know him a little? How to be good.

52 Films: Take Shelter. March 30, 2012. Michael Shannon gives an incredible performance as Curtis, a husband and father who begins to have vivid dreams of an impending apocolyptic storm. Could the dreams be real? Or is he losing his mind? Take Shelter is easily in my top five from last 2011. It’s suspenseful yet simple. Get the man an Oscar! Movies make up 75% of my DNA. My Favorite Reads of 2012. Middot; March 30, 2012. Anxiously awaiting seeing this – Hopefully I can meet Michael Shannon too! Best Book...

March 25, 2012. I set all my regrets on fire} – Fun. Who doesn’t know that poem? Two paths diverged in a. Wood/sorry he couldn’t travel both…. In high school it was taught as an inspirational poem about taking the path of difficulty over the easy. A success story of hard work and a life spent well (. I took the road less traveled by and that has made all the diff-er-ence. In college, I learned that the generally accepted, encouraging angle on the poem was wrong. This guy. As I look back with a sigh.

So it’s an incredible nonstop action movie thats about a female leader freeing women from sexual slavery? I would have seen it in the theaters if I had an inkling of what was in store. Remarkable art direction and relentless pace. Loved it. Certainly one of the best movies I saw all year. Let’s Do This. My Favorite Reads of 2012. March 6, 2013. This post has been sitting in my draft box for a couple months. I thought about deleting it, but I’m proud to present it now…in March. A word of warning, this ser...

Movies make up 75% of my DNA. March 28, 2012. I blame my father. All our conversations and late nights led to a life of loving movies. The movie marathons continued every weekend. As I got older, I delved into the rich but short history of the art- I got into classic film and indies and all the “best of” lists and I’ve loved every minute of it. 52 Films: Take Shelter. My Favorite Reads of 2012. March 6, 2013. This post has been sitting in my draft box for a couple months. I thought about deleting it, but I’m proud to present it now…in March. 1 East of Eden by John Steinbeck. Above and beyond the most meaningful, beautiful, fully-realized book I read this year. It is the story of good and evil, the story of all of us, all of this life. Read it. If I could afford it, I’d send everyone I know a copy. 2 We Need to Talk About Kevin by Lionel Shriver. I wish I could have kn...
