http://diannequilts.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
The Travels of a Quilter. Friday, March 27, 2015. These are the results from another day of dyeing. So much fun, and such great fabric. Seems a shame to cut it up! Wednesday, March 25, 2015. This is a course that I am taking with Elizabeth Barton and it is choc-a-bloc with ideas, suggestions, recipes and encouragement. Can you tell I'm having fun! Here are some of the photos so far of the dyeing that I have done. I'll post the art work when it's a little more completed. Monday, March 23, 2015. This is th...

The Travels of a Quilter: December 2014
http://diannequilts.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
The Travels of a Quilter. Saturday, December 13, 2014. We had about a foot of wet snow fall the other day. Very heavy! Below is my husband shaking the snow off some of the branches of our fir tree- those branches on his right should be sitting horizontally about 10' up in the air. A couple of shots of the water at the park next door. It's starting to freeze over, but not quite yet! The snow was so wet, and blowing so hard that it stuck like spray foam to one side of the trees. The Travels of a Quilter: January 2015
http://diannequilts.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
The Travels of a Quilter. Tuesday, January 20, 2015. Partly as a birthday celebration and partly to get away from the cold (-24C) and ice we took a quick trip to London. We managed to fit in 4 museums and 2 musicals ( the Grand Tour and Commitments) in 3 days! And had a visit with our daughter who is currently living near Southampton. The view from our room - classic row housing near Paddington. There is always something in bloom year round. Including decorative planters. Tuesday, January 13, 2015. These...

The Travels of a Quilter: May 2015
http://diannequilts.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
The Travels of a Quilter. Monday, May 4, 2015. We saw all sorts of windmills from little ones to modern ones. They were developed in the 1600s and were used to grind grain, saw logs into planks, move water uphill using an Archimedes screw, and to grind stones for making paint colours. Below you can see the vertical saw blades attached to the grey unit. People lived inside the windmill- and what a noise they had to live with as the blades rotated in the wind! Sunday, May 3, 2015. The Travels of a Quilter: June 2014
http://diannequilts.blogspot.com/2014_06_01_archive.html
The Travels of a Quilter. Thursday, June 19, 2014. Salon 2014 - Dyeing and Surface Design. At the end of May I was honoured to be asked to teach at our Provincial Quilt show Salon 2014. I taught a beginners dyeing course the first day and a surface design class the next day. The art room at the Collège André Grassett is a lovely bright room with lots of sinks. Perfect for my needs! And below are some of the tools for the surface design course. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile.

The Travels of a Quilter: July 2015
http://diannequilts.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html
The Travels of a Quilter. Sunday, July 19, 2015. Out and about in Montreal. On Monday I went out with a group to practice our photography with Maria Korab-Laskowska who kindly helps us out. Some of the older areas of Montreal have three story houses with exterior stairs. Trying to get pictures without cars in the wrong spot was virtually impossible. Below are some of the shots I took. Lots of back alleys too! Sunday, July 12, 2015. Text'art at the Cottage - 2015. This long piece was created by using torn...

The Travels of a Quilter: This 'n That
http://diannequilts.blogspot.com/2015/07/this-n-that.html
The Travels of a Quilter. Friday, July 3, 2015. Here are a few pictures from the cottage taken at the end of June when we had some lovely weather - i.e. no rain! Oh dear. The deer. This was a rather successful hosta until it became a midnight snack. Funny how they don't like the striped ones. And below, for dessert they polished off the lily buds. You can see one, but if you look closely you will see lots of stalks without buds! My birthday dinner chez Rebecca. Delicious! Labels: Deer eating hosta.
