What colour is your headache? – Pain Positive
https://painpositive.wordpress.com/2015/04/18/what-colour-is-your-headache
Turning my pain in to something positive…. Things I’ve Tried. What colour is your headache? April 18, 2015. May 8, 2015. I came across this – possibly black magic – video recently. How does this work? Well, I don’t really know, but this is the way I see it. Pain is like a car alarm. Your body is alerting you to the fact that there is something wrong. Your body is telling you that. There is something wrong that you need to take a look at and resolve. What do you think? Posted in: Coping with pain. Enter y...

Turning my pain in to something positive…. Things I’ve Tried. It’s getting better. March 1, 2014. It’s the 1st of March. And I’m happy about that. Despite not blogging for some months, I have continued to receive personal messages from people who know where I’m coming from, and I’m grateful for them. I am aware that there are people out there looking for answers, just as I was, and I am determined to share my story in case it helps out just one of them. Posted in: The story of The Headache. The new normal? – Pain Positive
https://painpositive.wordpress.com/2013/05/12/the-new-normal
Turning my pain in to something positive…. Things I’ve Tried. May 12, 2013. May 12, 2013. I spend a lot of time reading about pain. I’ve read some great blogs written by people suffering with different types and levels of pain. The courage, stamina and grace of these people constantly amazes me. Before I experienced chronic pain, I had no idea that there was this ‘hidden’ community of people all around the world living with and coping with pain. Posted in: Coping with pain. Hula baby! – Pain Positive
https://painpositive.wordpress.com/2015/05/03/hula-baby
Turning my pain in to something positive…. Things I’ve Tried. May 3, 2015. May 8, 2015. An osteopath that I saw in 2013 suggested that, when I get shoulder / neck / back aches and pains, I should try hula-hooping. That look on your face right now – that’s what I did, too. Is this guy kidding? But two years later, my crazy-coloured 2 hula hoop still gets pulled out when I have the odd ache, and it works faster than taking a painkiller. To help me get through the day. Or something equally wacky? You are co...

https://painpositive.wordpress.com/2015/05/01/theres-nothing-wrong-with-you
Turning my pain in to something positive…. Things I’ve Tried. There’s nothing wrong with you. May 1, 2015. September 2, 2015. I had a follow-up consultation at QEH, Birmingham. It was the familiar ‘ushered in, ushered out’ kind of appointment. I felt decisions had been made before I entered the room. I was told that my last MRI scan showed Good news! There’s nothing wrong with you! So I can skip out of here pain-free and return to my carefree, headache-free, study-filled, fun-filled life? A student enter...

Why is there no continuity of care? – Pain Positive
https://painpositive.wordpress.com/2013/04/19/why-is-there-no-continuity-of-care
Turning my pain in to something positive…. Things I’ve Tried. Why is there no continuity of care? April 19, 2013. I have just left my fifth – and apparently, final – physio appointment. After some neck manipulation, I was told that “nothing seems to be working”. And that I was not able to make a further appointment. I was shocked – I assumed that we would keep going. keep trying. until things started to get better. I assumed it would be a course of treatment. I feel like a failure. Yeah, yeah, I know tha...

A turning point: Massage – Pain Positive
https://painpositive.wordpress.com/2015/05/20/a-turning-point-massage
Turning my pain in to something positive…. Things I’ve Tried. A turning point: Massage. May 20, 2015. May 20, 2015. Not too far in to my headache story (after seven months of a constant headache, neckache and nausea, in fact), I was pretty run down and stressed. I decided to try going to a massage therapist. I researched a few in my local area. I knew I needed someone who knew about myofascial pain and trigger point massage. I emailed a few places and got several responses (generally of the. You are comm...

My Story – Pain Positive
https://painpositive.wordpress.com/my-story
Turning my pain in to something positive…. Things I’ve Tried. For those of you interested in my personal headache story, here is the story so far…. Make yourself comfortable, it’s a long one). Please do share your experiences, too – I’d love to hear from you. In August 2012, I tried to read and found that the words were moving. In which the world suddenly ‘moves’ to one side. After 4 weeks, I visited my GP. Migraine was ruled out, as the symptoms were constant, rather than ‘migrainous’, howev...In Septem...

Life In Google – Pain Positive
https://painpositive.wordpress.com/2015/05/11/life-in-google
Turning my pain in to something positive…. Things I’ve Tried. May 11, 2015. May 12, 2015. If you can tell a lot about a person’s life by looking at their Google history, mine would look worrying, at best! I was thinking about this at 4am this morning while I was Googling quick remedies for acid reflux. An unwelcome side effect of medication, in case you were wondering). I’m pretty sure I used to Google cheapest route to Innsbruck and cute pandas . I miss those Googling days! Posted in: General Sarcasm.
