A Single Step: July 2012
http://asinglestepblog.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html
Monday, July 23, 2012. So, what's next for this currently disjointed blog? Slowly I'll start filling it out with life: homeschooling/unschooling, faith, family. I'm on a journey of self discovery, and I think this space will suit some of what I'm processing. It may not be any less disjointed, but the intense food focus will have it's own space. There has been controversy on blogs I follow (largely the result of punitive minded prominent Christians saying misogynistic and/or abusive things). But today...

Thiessen Farms: Knotty Vampires!
http://thiessenfarms.blogspot.com/2012/03/knotty-vampires.html
Saturday, March 31, 2012. No more vampires on our farm! I got rid of them yesterday. Of course I'm talking about Vampire plum trees - what did you think? Vampires are a dark red, round plum. What makes them unique is their flesh - a blood red colour, instead of the usual yellow flesh of most red plums. Hence their name! Vampires are a fairly new variety of plum. When they first became available we planted only a few trees, to see what they would be like. Black knot is what did them in. Our Vampire trees ...

CSA 2015 – Week 8 | Thiessen Farms
https://thiessenfarms.com/2015/07/20/csa-2015-week-8
Keep updated on all that is happening around Thiessen Farms! CSA 2015 – Week 8. July 20, 2015. We don’t usually give organized tours of our farm. I always feel that our farm is pretty boring – just rows of trees and vegetables . lots of grass and weeds in between … a few chickens, ducks and 1 rabbit. Nothing too exciting. But last week was the exception and we gave 2 tours. It was good to show you how we grow the fruit and vegetables that appear in your CSA box, and to visit together. Onions, zucchini, b...

MO FARM: December 2011
http://mofarm.blogspot.com/2011_12_01_archive.html
There are few things I love more than decorating for the Christmas season. That said, it's been tough to get into the spirit so far, but last week I set my mind to creating a welcoming entrance. Call it peer pressure, because my neighbours spare no expense or effort in offering a carnival of lights, glowing deer and garland! I decided to skip the fanfare and focus on what I love most - the understated beauty of natural materials. How are you decorating for the holidays? Thursday, December 08, 2011. I'm a...

MO FARM: Spring?
http://mofarm.blogspot.com/2012/03/spring.html
It must be, because my seeds are here! It's been a loooong winter for my family and I, and I've been miserable at updating the Mo Farm blog. But it's a new season, and a fresh start, and I cannot WAIT to be back in fresh air, sunshine and soil. Looking back at last season, I'm already behind! I'll be sowing my first round of seeds this weekend, (a solid week behind last season's schedule) and you can start too! Check out this post from last year. For everything you need to sow and grow from seed!
