Gruppie Girl: Antiques Roadshow
http://gruppiegirl.blogspot.com/2008/08/antiques-roadshow.html
Tuesday, August 26, 2008. A few months ago I was aimlessly flipping through the channels and landed on a PBS show called Antiques Roadshow. Formally dressed and often thick accented appraisers look over people's cherished family heirlooms and yard sale finds. In every episode you will see people saying something like. Regular Lady: "I bought this pretty vase at a yard sale for 50 cents.". Appraiser: "Do you know how much it is worth mam? Regular Lady: "No clue". Did you request Antiques Roadshow tickets?

Gruppie Girl: August 2010
http://gruppiegirl.blogspot.com/2010_08_01_archive.html
Monday, August 16, 2010. It's been over a year since I've written anything longer than a permission slip to the bus driver. It's been over a year since I've given much of a thought to Gruppie Girl. Lately though, Gruppie Girl has been creeping into the forefront of my mind. A few months ago my mother lost her battle with appendix cancer. A few weeks later, her mother passed away. Life as I've always known ended. I found myself in the unwanted role as a 30-something matriarch. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Gruppie Girl: If It's Good Enough for the Obamas
http://gruppiegirl.blogspot.com/2009/06/if-its-good-enough-for-obamas.html
Tuesday, June 9, 2009. If It's Good Enough for the Obamas. Leading the country by example the Obama family. Cleared way for the return of a vegetable garden on the White House grounds. Local food that you can be sure it's history. (no scary food recalls) Healthy food that doesn't need pesticides. (healthier food = less trips to the doctor's office= more money in your pocket). Sadly, Eleanor Roosevelt. From a neighbor's yard. The entire mix was watered well to start the decomposing process. Finally, came ...

Gruppie Girl: March 2009
http://gruppiegirl.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html
Saturday, March 28, 2009. It's Phone Book Season. The melting snow has ushered in a new round of phone book deliveries. This time. It was three phone books all wrapped up in two shocking orange plastic bags. Paper waste wrapped in plastic waste. Ugh! The wonderful town I live in allows phone book companies to distribute as many phone books as they wish, yet they do not accept those same phone books for curbside recycling. And opting out. Didn't seem to work either. These bins are bandaids at best. I'...

Gruppie Girl: New Arrival!
http://gruppiegirl.blogspot.com/2009/05/new-arrival.html
Friday, May 1, 2009. It seems like everyone around me is having adorable little babies. Photos of these new sweeties are arriving in my inbox daily. Oh no, don't jump to any conclusions. I will not go down that route again in my lifetime. Still, I somehow can't feel a little jealous that they get to show off their new precious arrivals. Now it's my turn to show off my new arrival. Yes, my compost bin is a she. Who else but a girl could take a bunch of junk and turn it into rich soil? Follow me on Twitter.

http://gruppiegirl.blogspot.com/2009/05/turn-it-on.html
Monday, May 11, 2009. Last August I blogged about my adventures. In attending the Antiques Roadshow in Hartford. It was a once in a lifetime experience that would have been amazing if any of my treasured antiques were worth any real money. Part 1 of the Antiques Roadhshow Hartford series is on PBS tonight. If you are looking for me in the background, I am the. I've always liked watching that show. Who knew seeing antiques appraised could be so tense and exciting! How cool you got to see it live.
