In October we drove to Anacortes, WA to visit Rick's grandfather, Frank. We drove 101 and took a ferry from Pt. Townsend. Frank celebrated his 100th in October! We also took the ferry from Anacortes to Guemes Island. Then we spent the day in Seattle on the way home and visited Pikes Place Market and Ivar's. Joshua and Valerie Birthday Party.

Wednesday, October 15, 2008. Well, the canning season is officially over for our family. We canned 37 Quarts of Peaches, 13 Quarts of Pears, 72 Quarts of Applesauce, plus the salsa and tomatoes (see earlier post)! The best part was working side-by-side with my children! Caleb skinning the peaches - he also did ALL the pears (25# box)! Look at ALL those apples! Joshua cored and skinned about 3/4 of the apples. Valerie helped with the "saucing".
