Trees, Trails & Tupperware

Thursday, July 2, 2015. Ernest Hemingway once said,. 8220;It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.”. We spent 4 days exploring the Galloping Goose, these are just a few of our highlights. Red Fish, Blue Fish.

Trees, Trails & Tupperware: BC Backroad Tips

http://treestrailsandtupperware.blogspot.com/p/travelling-safe.html

We've had the pleasure of travelling from one end of this province to the other and while we would be the first to tell you how beautiful BC is, we will also be the first to tell you how dangerous it can be if you're not prepared. Travelling the backroads of British Columbia should not be taken lightly. It could literally cost you your life. From those experiences (and many more) we've come up with our 'Must Have Along list'. We'd like to share it with you. We hope you find it useful. A chainsaw or hands...

Trees, Trails & Tupperware: Cycling the Kettle Valley Railway

http://treestrailsandtupperware.blogspot.com/2013/11/cycling-kettle-valley-railway.html

Monday, September 23, 2013. Cycling the Kettle Valley Railway. It's called McCulloch's Wonder. A railway engineering marvel that took nearly 20 years to build. It traverses incredible canyons, mountains and rivers, winding its way through some of the most breathtaking vistas and views on the planet. The KVR is approximately 600 km long so obviously we weren't going to tackle it in just one trip! Where is that you say? Well let me tell you that Tulameen, British Columbia. Tree climbing isn't something we ...

Trees, Trails & Tupperware: Cycling the Kettle Valley Railway - take TWO

http://treestrailsandtupperware.blogspot.com/2014/09/cycling-kettle-valley-railway-take-two.html

Wednesday, September 24, 2014. Cycling the Kettle Valley Railway - take TWO. As far as I'm concerned, one of the best ways to experience British Columbia is while riding on a bicycle. The sights, the smells and the sounds that you can experience in nature are so much easier to enjoy when you aren't racing by at 100 clicks/hour! Our latest adventure into BC involved my friends, me and, once again, our bikes! In the parking lot. Just make sure to book it ahead of time since they don't do last minute re...

Dawnelle's Designs: November 2008

Tessa gets a special visit with some lemurs. This is my mother-in-law and my daughter. The resemblance between them is uncanny. The last time we were in Disneyland Tessa got to have a very special visit with Aladdin. When he kissed her hand I don't think there was a happier girl in Disneyland at that moment.

Dawnelle's Designs: Disneyland Layouts

http://dawnellesdesigns.blogspot.com/2009/01/disneyland-layouts.html

Tuesday, January 13, 2009. My favourite place in the world and one of my. Favourite subjects to scrapbook. I loved this Basic Grey paper. so perfect for the feeling that I wanted in this layout. I used chipboard letters from Making Memories and the Mickey is from Creative Memories. The photo in this layout caused me such problems. Everyone just clashed.so finally I decided to take all the colour out except for Mickey. Problem solved! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). British Columbia, Canada.

"Have We Got Any Peanuts?": Snow Day

http://havewegotanypeanuts.blogspot.com/2010/11/snow-day.html

Thursday, November 25, 2010. It's been snowing all day. It started last night and it hasn't stopped. The weatherman told us it was coming and I can't say that I was surprised but still I'm not happy. I don't like snow. And I don't understand why people do. I just spent a while on Facebook and you should see the statuses. everyone seems so happy about it! Yes it's pretty and you can have some fun in it. if you don't mind being wet and cold. It's quiet and peaceful. That's about it. So you know what? Other...

Wednesday, February 2, 2011. How to Knit Correctly. and Other Things that Grandma Taught Me. What are you doing? Knitting." I said. (I thought the wool and knitting needles made that rather apparent.). No you're not," she retorted, "that's not knitting. Stop that right now.". But she knew something that I didn't know. When I mastered it I would be able to knit twice as fast as before. And she was right. To this day I am grateful for that knitting lesson. Today would have been Grandma's 98th birthday, she...

"Have We Got Any Peanuts?": January 2011

http://havewegotanypeanuts.blogspot.com/2011_01_01_archive.html

Thursday, January 6, 2011. A Glimpse of Spring. Last Sunday, Peter, one of church family members shared with us about the season of winter. Not the actual growing season of snow and cold of the environment around us but the season of winter in our hearts. The times when we go through loss and hurt and disappointment. Watching my friends go through illness and my family go through loss? Not my favourite way to pass the time and a really good way to lose sleep. They had no worries. British Columbia, Canada.

http://havewegotanypeanuts.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html

Wednesday, July 21, 2010. I love a good mystery. We had a couple of mysterious happenings this morning at church and it got me to thinking about how much fun they can be and how much I enjoy them. Yes I know there are plenty of bad mysteries out there but today I'm talking about the fun ones - like who gave you the anonymous Valentine's card, where exactly is Noah's ark or, like what happened to Pastor Wes this morning, who washed your car for you while you weren't looking! We're not all going to die - b...

Wednesday, August 5, 2009. Lessons from a Barnacle. A few weeks ago I went to Saltspring Island with some girlfriends. We were geocaching on a wonderful rocky beach and reveling in our freedom. Yes, it was only for a couple of days, but for those few days we are just young girls again, no worrying about children or what to make for supper, no laundry and no schedules. And what I love the most. complete freedom to explore. I laughed and then thought, "That is so going to be the title of my next blog!

"Have We Got Any Peanuts?": Are You Needy?

http://havewegotanypeanuts.blogspot.com/2010/06/are-you-needy.html

Wednesday, June 9, 2010. A couple of Saturdays ago I went hiking with my cousin. We probably hiked for 3 hours that day and talked and visited the whole time. Hiking is so great for that. We talked about our kids, our grandkids, our families, what's been great and what's been not so great in our lives. We are 'forced' to take care of them 24/7 which ultimately forms this bond that connects us to our offspring in a way that nothing else ever will because they are so needy. June 27, 2010 at 6:34 AM. http://havewegotanypeanuts.blogspot.com/2010_05_01_archive.html

Friday, May 21, 2010. Thankful for the Storm. A couple of nights ago we had a wicked wind storm. Of course living in a rural area with many large trees it was inevitable.our power went out. Great. Being the techie that I am I don't do well without my gadgets. What am I supposed to do now? And it didn't take long for my daughter, Tessa, to start experiencing Facebook withdrawl. "What am I supposed to do all night! She complained. Wow, are we really that bad? Thursday, May 13, 2010. The older I get the mor...
