The village is named from the eponymous 6th century saint Cynon and the Parish Church, basically pre-Reformation but heavily "restored" in the 19th century, is built on an oval shaped hillock of pre-historic significance and is named in his honour. Wind Farm Trust Fund. A Brief History of Tregynon. One of Wales's iconic buildings, the hall is one of the 3rd Lord Sudeley's concrete structures, built in the nineteenth century. It now belongs to the Unviersity of Wales, and is its conference centre. The hall may be hired for for events, and it is a licensed wedding venue.
