Stuckasaurus: Vintage Creationist Dinosaur Art: Dinosaurs by Design Pt. 1

Paleo Blogging and Other Nerdy Endeavors. Tuesday, November 17, 2015. Vintage Creationist Dinosaur Art: Dinosaurs by Design Pt. 1. Hey, it's still Dinovember! How about another creationist dinosaur book review? For the record, plenty of non-creationist books pulled this stunt as well.). But was ten times too big. As it turns out, I had reason to be confused, since it's clearly based on Joseph Leidy's original reconstruction of Hadrosaurus. Is portrayed as a beaky, hyspilophondont looking thing, despite t...

Paleo Blogging and Other Nerdy Endeavors. Tuesday, June 9, 2015. I've chosen "Stuckasaurus" this time, which I feel to be much more up front about what you're getting here: a whole lotta stuff about dinosaurs and such, and a whole lotta inane ramblings from a one Mr. Stuck (that's me! So that's all the back story for now. Hope you enjoy! Vintage Creationist Art series:. Dinosaurs, Those Terrible Lizards. The Great Dinosaurs Mystery and the Bible, Part 1. Noah's Ark and the Lost World.

Stuckasaurus: May 2016

Paleo Blogging and Other Nerdy Endeavors. Friday, May 13, 2016. Waco Mammoth National Monument. I was particularly excited for our drive down, however, as the Waco Mammoth National Monument was on our way! This smallish museum is built over the site of a Pleistocene (Ice Age) excavation site, where a number of prehistoric mammals were found, especially of course mammoths. This painting takes into consideration the warmer climate of their southern home, and so it has much sparser hair compared to a Woolly...

Tuesday, July 30, 2013. Unwarranted cynicism has always bothered me. It often appears as an unwillingness to try new things, but I find that by far its most irksome manifestation is criticism born of unfamiliarity. You use, it's how. You use it. If it's done in service to the narrative, and you make the absolute most of it that you can in service to the story, then you're justified in using whatever you want. Remember, humans are complex beings. If religion must. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). 160;Passport ...

Stuckasaurus: New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science (addendum)

Paleo Blogging and Other Nerdy Endeavors. Tuesday, November 22, 2016. New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science (addendum). Social media has been rather poisoned by politics lately, so I decided the Internet could use some more dinosaurs (and other prehistoric creatures). I always meant to write another post following up on my last, featuring some of the photos I didn't include in my review of the New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science. Better late than never, I suppose. I really liked t...

Stuckasaurus: April 2016
http://stuckasaurus.blogspot.com/2016_04_01_archive.html
Paleo Blogging and Other Nerdy Endeavors. Wednesday, April 27, 2016. Here's a few more Texas dinosaurs I've drawn recently, with varying degrees of success in this batch. First up, a dinosaur that may not even be from Texas! Somewhere along the way, I thought I'd heard it was found around here somewhere, but now I can only find references to it as being from Utah and Colorado. Oops! Hope you liked these! Stay tuned for more. Wednesday, April 20, 2016. Also uploaded to my DeviantArt page.

Paleo Blogging and Other Nerdy Endeavors. Thursday, August 20, 2015. Vintage Creationist Dinosaur Art: The Amazing Story of Creation. Tonight's top story: babies are a lot of work! I've been wanting to blog more regularly, if only to get into the habit of writing, but small humans tend to take up a lot of a new father's time, and so my blog generally just gathers dust in the meantime. In other news, I've managed to at least crank out my latest review of old creationist paleoart! Standing directly in fron...

Tuesday, February 11, 2014. Vintage Creationist Dinosaur Art: The Great Dinosaur Mystery and the Bible (Part 1). Here we go again, with more old creationist dinosaur artwork! As I said in my previous blog post. This week, we have The Great Dinosaur Mystery and the Bible. Released in 1987 (accompanied by a straight to VHS feature. A full decade after our last literary adventure. The sights have definitely improved, though there's still not much indication that the Dinosaur Renaissance. The next couple pag...

Sunday, June 7, 2015. Agathaumas, or is it Regaliceratops? So a cool new dinosaur was just recently announced: Regaliceratops. The "regal" part referring to the "crown-of-horns" on its frill. The internet of course can't stop talking about the fact that its discoverers nicknamed it "Hellboy". ( Mike Mignola may or may not draw the original Hellboy riding one someday. But discussion of the creature itself is best left to the professionals. See this article by Brian Switek. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
