The Symons Family: Future Famous Writer?
http://sixsillysymons.blogspot.com/2015/06/future-famous-writer.html
Sunday, June 14, 2015. For the past four years Maren has attended the Teen Writer's Conference in Utah. It's a great event sponsored by LDS Storymakers for ages 14-18. About 150 attend each year, and it's held at Weber State University in Ogden. They have some great writers and agents teach the workshops, including Jessica Day George, Brandon Mull, Chad Morris, Lisa Mangum, and Josi Kilpack. She won $100 and got some great feedback on her entry. Emma, trying to steal the $100 bill. Michelle D. Argyle.

Wednesday, March 25, 2015. Written by guest blogger, Maren Symons. Bad picture of Emma, but great picture of her "Road Trip" shirt. Off we go to Jackson Hole (sing). Is it bad luck to start a trip after seeing a dead mouse next to your car? Well, we've never been superstitious (or afraid of mice) so to Jackson we went. Del had a 20 minute repair to do there and decided to take the rest of us for a day full of fun. Of course, we had to make a pit stop in Swan Valley for a square ice cream cone. We found E...

The Symons Family: Tuacahn Girls' Weekend
http://sixsillysymons.blogspot.com/2015/06/tuacahn-girls-weekend.html
Saturday, June 6, 2015. Before Disney's "When You Wish" had even started I knew I was going to love it! The Tuacahn outdoor theater in St. George is spectacular and there is a feeling of excitement in the air. There was also a feeling of rain in the air, but we didn't mind, and it soon stopped enough to let the show start. We saw the premier of When You Wish, and there was a group of Disney executives who were introduced at the beginning. The special effects were amazing! An update from BYU. All Things B...

Saturday, June 14, 2014. We spent a week on the Oregon Coast with my parents, Becky's family, Karen's family, Susan and Layla, and James. We all stayed together in a house in Nehalem, and we had a wonderful time. We visited familiar sights, played on beaches, hiked up mountains, and discovered new favorite places. Here are some pictures of the fun we had. I made a photo book of our trip, so I'm not going to blog much about it. Monday, June 9, 2014. We spent it on vacation with 18 of our favorite people!

Friday, February 21, 2014. Emma was so excited to make it into Franklin Singers this year. It's a brand new show choir with boys and girls performing together. They sang old standards, like "Misty," upbeat jazz, and a fun medley of Queen hits. I thought they sounded fantastic, but apparently not everyone agreed. This little girl plugged her ears throughout most of the concert. Oh, well. You can't please them all! Friday, February 14, 2014. Some things I love about Del- A Valentine's Tribute to My Honey.

Saturday, July 26, 2014. Girls Camp is always so great, but it requires months and months of preparation. This year was the first camp I was in charge of as Stake YW president so I was kind of nervous, but I didn't need to be. With Heidi Payne as Camp Director and Kathleen Hofman and Stacey George as her assistants it was bound to be wonderful! These are truly great ladies, and I love serving with them. Sunday, September 28, 2014. Maren was excited to go to the Homecoming dance last night, and she had a great time with her date, Ben Pitman. They spent the day with a group of friends at a cabin playing games and eating pizza. They had planned to go hiking, but a torrential downpour kept that from happening. Another year older and wiser, too.Happy Birthday to Devin! Devin is pretty easy to please when it comes to birthdays, but he doesn't have a lot of imagination. Here's how the conversation went:. Saturday, August 30, 2014. Maren's group of friends have a weird tradition of secretly leaving a collection of creepy dolls at one of their houses. Then the person who was attacked finds a new doll to add to the collection and secretly delivers them to someone else. Strange, but they think it's fun. Maren came home to this sight:. Maren really hates clowns, so this sight was truly frightening! I asked her to pose with this old lady doll, but she found her to be a little too creepy! End of Summer Fun.
