ABBike Blog: Its Fall of 2011.
http://abbike.blogspot.com/2011/11/its-fall-of-2011.html
Richard Abbott's Bike Blog. Its Fall of 2011. Long time no see. Occasionally I look back at my old blog entries and think, "Wow, I need to get back to writing that." Not that I think anyone else is interested, but lots of good memories that I like to be reminded of. This cycling season was a total bust for me. I never managed a good race. By good, what I mean is one where I felt good while riding, finished the race, and thought, "Wow, that was great! How will we pay for their education? I think I underst...

ABBike Blog: 2006-12
http://abbike.blogspot.com/2006_12_01_archive.html
Richard Abbott's Bike Blog. One of my main Christmas gifts for this year was a Garmin Edge 305. Purchased at Revolution Cycles. To give it a little review, this is one cool gadget. It is GPS based, but also has a barometric altimeter and heart rate monitor. A cadence kit is also available, but I don't have that. The altimeter and HRM on it both work really well. This first picture shows a ride I did today, and then plotted using GoReedGo.com. T there was actually 2400 feet of climbing. Links to this post.

Richard Abbott's Bike Blog. Thanksgiving holiday is great. You can usually bike or ski, and we always have some kind of family gathering. I've had a great week spending good times with the family on the bike, on skiis, and running. Out training, riding diagonally across Wasatch against traffic, so I guess he's still training. Mt Bike conditions in St. George were very good - not too dusty, not too cold. Here is Scott riding around in the parking area of the Intermountain Cup. So, for Thanksgiving, I'm th...

ABBike Blog: First Ski Day for 2012 Season
http://abbike.blogspot.com/2011/11/first-ski-day-for-2012-season.html
Richard Abbott's Bike Blog. First Ski Day for 2012 Season. This year we got season passes at Alta. 28 F, but windy and snowing, it felt pretty cold. Took a while to get all the kids clothes straightened out so they were warm and comfortable - it is hard to be aggressive when cold. After we got that figured out, it was great. Snow is still pretty thin on the big slopes, but fine on the groomers for the kids. Posted by MtbAllDay at Friday, November 25, 2011. Links to this post:. Follow me on Twitter.

Richard Abbott's Bike Blog. Well, sore throat and lung congestion have got me. Yuck. The kids are great, but they do bring germs. Here is a picture of Tanner. He is one, and is a cute kid. He says "thank-you", which is nice, but tonight I caught him in the bathroom. You know the plastic caps that cover the bolts that hold the toilet to the floor? He had one of those grasped in his hand, and was using it as a cup to get a drink out of the toilet bowl. He didn't say, "thank-you" when I retrieved the cup.

ABBike Blog: Camp Lynda Ends with a Bang!
http://abbike.blogspot.com/2011/02/camp-lynda-ends-with-bang.html
Richard Abbott's Bike Blog. Camp Lynda Ends with a Bang! I have obviously fallen behind on the blog lately. Too bad since it is really my only journal that I keep. Anyhow, it has been a good backcountry ski season with several good trips. I have also managed a few days with the kids at the resorts. Two weekends ago was Camp Lynda 2011. Three official days of fun in the sun, for me 2 days. Reed and I drove down Thursday night and rode Friday and Saturday, about 5 or 6 hours each day. I needed to drive hom...

ABBike Blog: Watch out - the season is coming. Betterride.
http://abbike.blogspot.com/2011/03/watch-out-season-is-coming-betterride.html
Richard Abbott's Bike Blog. Watch out - the season is coming. Betterride. My blog has been falling victim to the same death as my training - too much going on. I just haven't been able to make it fit very well so far this year. I did get a new bike about a month ago, and finally got to ride it last weekend. My new Superfly 100 is awesome, and it was a blast to ride. I didn't get to really hammer on it yet, but that'll come. Thanks to Ian and BikeFix. For setting me up! I almost laugh when people ask me t...

http://abbike.blogspot.com/2007_02_01_archive.html
Richard Abbott's Bike Blog. Yesterday was the first real snow day this year for me (in a resort, anyway). The skiing this year has been the worst I can remember.ever. Yesterday was very good. Dave N and I hit Alta till about 1:30, most of the day on Stone Crusher and Rustler, with a few others thrown in for variety. Everything was nice. Saw Twitch from Revolution. Waiting to get on a chair - can't miss him with the goatee. Posted by MtbAllDay at Tuesday, February 20, 2007. Links to this post. The rest of...
