Trial Run-Head

The 1 1/2” diaphragm pump that makes the Lavac head so efficient also doubles as a back-up bilge pump, with the twist of a valve. The sink in the head is fed from the fresh-water pressure system. There is storage both above an below the counter and GFCI protected 110VAC power is available in the head. Shower controls. The main salon as viewed from the galley. The settees, port and starboard, are very comfortable pilot berths for 2, with lee cloths stowed, but ready. Another view of the main salon. Trial Run deck is organized so that all the modern offshore gear is easy to use and maintain. All leads are fair, all chafe points taped or leathered. After thousands of miles the hull still shines up like new. Solid stainless rod rigging, normally found only on expensive offshore racing yachts, is almost impervious to stretch and corrosion. A view up Trial Run's mast with the primary spinnaker pole in stowed position. All sail controls run through clutch stoppers and coil and stow neatly on the cabin.

The forward cabin (V-berth) as seen from the main salon. The forward cabin comfortably sleeps two and the locker, drawers, shelves, cabinets and under-mattress compartments provide outstanding storage room. A closer view of the forward cabin better shows the fine cabinety typical of the construction in Trial Run. Room for two more along with still more storage is available in the aft cabin. In 1997 Trial Run entered her first Coastal Cup, the 277 nautical mile offshore race from San Francisco to Santa Barabara, and was was first in her division to finish on both overall and corrected time. In 1998, competing in her second West Marine Pacific Cup. Race from San Francisco, CA to Kaneohe, HI, Trial Run placed third in Division A and 13th of over 70 entries overall. Among the photos.
