8220;You know you've read a good book when you turn the last page and feel a little as if you have lost a friend.” - Paul Sweeney. Sunday, September 30, 2007. Afterwards - Jaishree Misra. There is always, if not exactly a ‘happily ever after’, at least an ‘afterwards’ to every story…. The book is told from Rahul’s perspective and, as stated earlier, focuses mostly on his distress after Maya’s death, who he loses to a car accident after spending 3 years with him in London. My feeling after finishing the b...

The Reluctant Fundamentalist - Mohsin Hamid. The janissaries were always taken in childhood. It would have been far more difficult to devote themselves to their adopted empire, you see, if they had memories they could not forget.". Like a flowing river. Manuscript of random thoughts. Thursday, November 13, 2008. On Walking the red carpet! It's 4.32 and my eyelids are closing on me. I am back from the premiere of Vaaranam Aayiram only an hour back. first ever premiere in my life. Surya looks rather short than I thought he would be, Sameera had a cute smile and a weird hairdo, and the plump looking Divya is rather puny. well din't they say looks could deceive? Like a flowing river....: The New Year...
http://nairsjottings.blogspot.com/2010/01/new-year.html
Like a flowing river. Manuscript of random thoughts. Thursday, January 07, 2010. They hooted, brandishing glasses. Clasped, kissed and shrieked. Said the New Year has arrived. The fireworks lit up the sky. Streaked it with anomalous colors. I pulled my rug over tightly. The tattered cloth showed the fireworks in patterns. There’s no respite tonight, from the voices and noises. Tonight is different, I thought. Not another night in my life. It’s the New Year. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

8220;You know you've read a good book when you turn the last page and feel a little as if you have lost a friend.” - Paul Sweeney. Monday, September 24, 2007. For some strange reason Mario Puzzo's Godfather seems to be dragging, so is Jaishree Misra's Afterwards. May be they are good books, may be i still haven't gotten enough into it. in usual cases all it takes to me is a weekend to finish a book. strangely in this case it is not so. may be i'm just a l'l lazy :-).
