The Canadian Loon: January 2014
http://canadianloon.blogspot.com/2014_01_01_archive.html
Things I think, Images I capture. Jan 26, 2014. Poor guy, me sticking a camera in his face all the time and the polar vortex keeping him inside. Worst of both worlds for him, he goes out to do his business and then straight back in, just to cold out there. Killing him today as the sun is shining in so he's convinced it's nice out, reality is -31c windchill this morning. Maybe a bit warmer this afternooon? Images are bigger if you click them - exif info intact). Jan 22, 2014. There are a few imitation lea...

In Debt In Devonshire: The construction process is complete
http://bermudaglen.blogspot.com/2012/10/the-construction-process-is-complete.html
In Debt In Devonshire. Monday, October 22, 2012. The construction process is complete. Chris, Tony and William arrived around 11am to build the "Trash Condo" and the last section of the front wall. The weather was very conducive to working, with much lower humidity and a nice breeze to keep things cool. Rather than add a caption for every picture, as I usually do, I'm just going to display the following photos to show the flow of the work done throughout the day. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

The Canadian Loon: March 2014
http://canadianloon.blogspot.com/2014_03_01_archive.html
Things I think, Images I capture. Mar 16, 2014. Oh my it's painful waiting for the new toys to arrive. Ordered on Thursday but the website did warn me that it would probably be 7-14 business days before it ships, seems that stock is still low and demand is high - sigh. Gonna be a long wait :-(. Mar 11, 2014. So here I sit tonight with only 3 camera to my name. My old Pentex ME Super 35mm film camera, a Lumix point and shoot and my Fuji X100s. Should I just stick with these? Nahhhh, I don't think so :-).

The Canadian Loon: July 2014

Things I think, Images I capture. Jul 13, 2014. Lets go take one from a drive." Up to the dealer we went. RAV4 with the kayak, it's tough to get a 60 lb kayak up there using a step stool. Yes I need to order new plates, the back one looks even worse. Going to get some veterans plates with my callsign on them. Probably, but I'm probably going to be happier paying for the service as I know it won't be a bitch fest if things go wrong. Big deal" you say. "You bought a new car, how is this a big change? A 5 y...

Things I think, Images I capture. Jan 16, 2015. For Hopeful Hearts - An Update on Jackson. Just learned that the dog rescue that Jen and I got Jackson from is on Facebook and for some time we've been meaning to send them an update on our boy. Figured this was the best way to include the photos and an update. For those who follow my blog, they know all about Jackson and his adventures of the past few years. He isn't completely blind, he can see movement and shadows so as long as you don't stand still or q...

http://bermudaglen.blogspot.com/2012/10/the-wall-is-coming-along-nicely.html
In Debt In Devonshire. Saturday, October 20, 2012. The wall is coming along nicely. I didn't get to post the events from yesterday (Friday), so am getting it done this morning, before any more work gets done today. The guys are over at another project, but the plan is for them to come over in the afternoon and continue the work. The weather is supposed to start getting cloudy and wet as the afternoon goes by, so I hope it will work out okay. Ryan and William measure and cut metal support rods. Chris bala...

In Debt In Devonshire: March 2012
http://bermudaglen.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html
In Debt In Devonshire. Saturday, March 31, 2012. Hard to believe March will be over in four hours. This last day of the month went by very quickly, but a bit more progress was made. Chris, Tony and Luis showed up this morning, but Chris had to go home after an hour because he had hurt a chest muscle while working at the hospital project, yesterday, and was in quite a lot of pain. Hopefully, he'll feel much better by Monday morning. Tony and Chris get the cement mixer ready for action. There was a huge fi...

In Debt In Devonshire: June 2012
http://bermudaglen.blogspot.com/2012_06_01_archive.html
In Debt In Devonshire. Saturday, June 23, 2012. This has been an interesting journey and it was fun to keep a running log of the renovation process, from beginning to end. Lots of nice comments along the way and most of you were interested to get a first-hand look at how Bermuda houses and roofs are constructed. The final load of gravel is delivered. Johnny uses the Bobcat to spread the gravel. Johnny evens out the gravel in the parking area. The parking area is now finished. A few people have told me ho...
