First entry: Getting ready for the break. This is the first blog that I have ever written, so here it goes …. For the most part, each road trip has been a new experience for me. I have been fortunate enough to play in some great ballparks and see some cool places. Pittsburgh was especially fun because I was able to hit and I thought I threw the ball well. Hopefully, I will get a chance to hit again in October! Talk to you after the break! Posted on July 10, 2009 at 3:45 pm. On July 10, 2009 4:28 pm.

Rocky Mountain Way…Outside Coors looking in. When the dust and dirt of life settles…if you're lucky there's baseball…. The Bandwagon takin all ticket holders. That is unless of course you are a Rockies die-hard and have known the mighty defeats and felt the highs of this current turn-around that has lasted over the month of June and into the middle of July. So the national media came, gave them five minutes to point out what they had done and poof. The AL East would still get most of the coverage, bu...

Staying away from trade talk « Matt's Blog
http://mattholliday.mlblogs.com/2009/07/01/staying-away-from-trade-talk
Staying away from trade talk. I’ve been asked about the possibility of being traded and whether I’m aware of whatever talk is going on out there about me, but I really try to avoid it. I don’t really read the internet or newspapers, because that’s one of those things you can’t really control, so it doesn’t do any good to try to figure out what’s going on. I just try to stay in my little box, come to the field, try to play well, go home and spend time with my family. Posted on July 1, 2009 at 1:44 pm.

They asked me the other day, 'Would you rather make a great catch or hit a home run? 039; And I said, 'Make a great catch' because I'm happy and the pitcher's happy. Well, That Was Mildly Interesting (and Brief). American League continues to own the National League. Hasn’t worked in almost a week. Just enjoys toying with his opponents. I’d like to think that someday two guys will be talking in a bar and one of them will say something like, ‘Yeah, he’s a good shortstop, but he’s not as good as ole Ripken was.’ “. This moment in baseball:. Cal was on his way to. And his 17 errors. Ripken would, however, win the award in 1991 and 1992. First-time All-Stars Adam Jones and Curtis Granderso...

Before we headed to Milwaukee, the All-Star selections were announced and I want to give props to Yadier, Albert and Franklin for making the team this year. It was the first for Yadier and Franklin and I’m sure it was extra special for all in front of the hometown crowd. Until next time…. Posted on July 16, 2009 at 6:38 pm. On July 17, 2009 12:18 am. This moment in history:. Cal was starting the longest streak of games being played ever in baseball history in 82′. The Ripken Way says,. BASEBALL IS A WALK OF LIFE. Welcome to my blog. I wish we had better things to start talking about for the team. It’s a little weird to get going when we’re not doing so well, but hopefully we can turn it around. We’ve gone through things like this before, and it’s just something you have to deal with until you get it right. You can’t do anything about the past. I still think we have a little run in us. You always have to think that way, think positively. I’m looking forward to talking about that. Posted on August 2, 2009 at 5:46 pm.

July Baseball « Baseball is what gets inside you – Jimmy Dugan A League of Their Own

Baseball is what gets inside you – Jimmy Dugan A League of Their Own. Ok well here it is. Start freaking out because July is half way over. Just kidding. Playoffs are 2 months away. Whoever is in first in the division is starting to salivate with baseball playoff fever and those in last sigh and shrug their shoulders and can only hope that being an optimist will help their team. Only July, time keeps ticking, and you watch the standings in your division as August creeps closer. It’s July. Where...Here...

Big Glove Bob's Ballhawking Blog. I hate the Yankees. I hate the Yanks. I really do. Not as much as the Twins do, but still. We can play other top teams tough, but the Yanks have our number. I have gone to the last two games. Game one on Tuesday sucked all around. I went with my brother and he actually got there bright and early and I joined him at the front of the line. No Easter Eggs were to be found when we ran in and within minutes the place starting getting uncomfortably busy for BP. I then went and...
