And her adventures in knitting, crocheting, sewing, reading and gardening. Tuesday, January 27, 2009. As promised my "mods" to Bernat's Organic Cotton Knit Booties. Link leads to Ravelry). Please keep in mind that I am a very loose knitter, so #8 needles will give me a gauge of 3.5 sts in garter stitch. Use whatever needles give you that gauge or your slipper might be too big and the fabric to stretchy. Based on Bernat’s Baby Booties. Knit with 2 strands of worsted wt yarn and #8 circular needles. Knitting Nonni: November 2008
http://knittingnonni.blogspot.com/2008_11_01_archive.html
And her adventures in knitting, crocheting, sewing, reading and gardening. Sunday, November 16, 2008. I'm almost up to my 50 that I pledged for the Hatz Blitz! So I've had the Bond/ISM for years and really never tried ribbing on it. I did a closed cast on - something else I'm not really great at. I decided on an easy rib of k3, p1. I say almost because I forgot to use a smaller keyplate for the ribbing to make it tighter. There's always next time. Finally finished this one! And that's all for now. Helpin...

Knitting Nonni: April 2009
http://knittingnonni.blogspot.com/2009_04_01_archive.html
And her adventures in knitting, crocheting, sewing, reading and gardening. Monday, April 20, 2009. Here is another pair of "hoot-less" mittens. I followed the pattern of Give-A-Hoot mittens omitting the cabled parts. Close up of what the Finnish knitters call "Indian Thumb Gusset". I did not really care for the 34 sts width of these. A little too wide even for my wide hands. I assume when you work the cabled part it would draw in the hand for a tighter fit. I cut down the pattern to 32 sts wrist and body.
