On the Celtic Road. July 24, 2009 at 12:36 am ( Food. 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda. 8 oz Irish Butter. 4 oz Mixed Peel. 1 lbs mixed dried fruit. 1/2 tsp Mixed Spice. 1/2 pint of Guinness. Sieve flour, baking soda and spices in to a bowl. Beat butter and sugar together for 5 to 10 minutes to a cream. Add eggs one at a time and continue to beat. Finely chop almonds. Fold in flour mixture, sultanas, mixed peel, almonds and mixed fruit. Add Guinness. Mix well. A Hundred Thousand Welcomes. On The Celtic Road.

Unfortunately the current owners are in a legal battle with long time area residents over access rights to the property and have decided to close Lissadell House until the dispute is resolved. But recently the owners came to an agreement to keep the house open to the public for this travel season only. So if you’re in Ireland be sure to stop by and see this magnificent house and learn a bit more about it’s inhabitants. 8220;It’s a wonderful place.
