My experiences with Trileptal. 27 May 2006 06:57pm. After having Dilantin start being increasingly ineffective (and finding out some nasty things about it and estrogen) my neurologist put me on Lamictal (500 mg/day). When I continued to have seizures Keppra (1000 mg/day) was added as well. Big problem. Now I could not sleep. I'm on a really low dose (300 mg/day) and it's made me really dizzy, not to mention sluggish, forgetful and it numbs my face. Also, if I screw up my schedule, I get incredibly volatile.
