Diary of a weekend gardener: February 2005

http://trilliumsgarden.blogspot.com/2005_02_01_archive.html

Diary of a weekend gardener. Sunday, February 20, 2005. It was all car, trailer and racing this weekend so no gardening - again! Still, once the trailer is finished I can get rid of a load of garden rubbish and buy some fresh topsoil. This weekend's garden spotting included a wren and a grey wagtail, plus the usual greenfinches, blue tits, great tits, mistle thrush and blackbirds. Pleasant company in winter sunshine. 2C to 6C today, light wind from due north, no rain. Posted by Sue Beesley @ 8:10 pm.

Diary of a weekend gardener: April 2005

http://trilliumsgarden.blogspot.com/2005_04_01_archive.html

Diary of a weekend gardener. Friday, April 29, 2005. Ups and downs of a week away. On the plus side, everything is greener and bigger than when I left on Monday. I'm so glad I did a big weeding job over the weekend or they'd be greener and bigger too. On the downside, a lot of the cuttings I took have succumbed to heat stroke from being in the conservatory and untended. No big deal. Posted by Sue Beesley @ 6:10 pm. Sunday, April 24, 2005. A two day gardening fest. What's left on each side:. Two shrubby w...

Diary of a weekend gardener: November 2005

http://trilliumsgarden.blogspot.com/2005_11_01_archive.html

Diary of a weekend gardener. Sunday, November 27, 2005. One day, all days will be potential garden days. But until then it's a question of taking my chances on 2 out of 7. Since I wrote off Saturday shopping for a fetching outfit for our neighbours' same sex wedding, aka civil partnership ceremony, in December, that left Sunday for gardening. Which was fine until midday (I only got outside at about 11.30) and then it pissed down with something between sleet and rain for the rest of the day. I'm up, dress...

Diary of a weekend gardener: July 2005

http://trilliumsgarden.blogspot.com/2005_07_01_archive.html

Diary of a weekend gardener. Tuesday, July 26, 2005. Summer colour has never been my strong point, but my plant sale trip to Tatton show in the pouring rain gave me the opportunity for a top-up. The great thing about show garden plants is that they are mature and cheap. My haul was:. 2 x Anthemis 'EC Buxton' - been meaning to grow this for some time. 2 x a dark red sedum. 4 x Echincea - the standard pinky-red colour. 2 x a purply verbascum. Never grown verbascum before. Posted by Sue Beesley @ 9:59 am.

Diary of a weekend gardener: Wind, rain and more rain

http://trilliumsgarden.blogspot.com/2007/01/wind-rain-and-more-rain.html

Diary of a weekend gardener. Sunday, January 21, 2007. Wind, rain and more rain. Between 1st November 2005 and 31st January 2006 we had 136mm of rain here. For the same period this year but only up to today, i.e. 9 days shorter, we have had 347mm of rain. Even with our light sandy soil it's been close to impossible to get outside much. Perhaps even more significantly it has been warmer this year than last year for 63 days out of the last 80. Posted by Sue Beesley @ 3:19 pm. Nr Barnton, Cheshire, North we...

Garden Cadet's Blog: April 2006

http://gardencadet.blogspot.com/2006_04_01_archive.html

Monday, April 10, 2006. Well its been a long time since I last updated this blog, however as i shall explain below i have been very busy of late. Apologies to those of you who were expecting more regular contributions. So from several large piles I was left with little more than a large bag of shredded material suitable for composting or turning into a mulch for other plants. In addition I now have a tidy and spacious area where once there was chaos! Now thats what I call a good days work! I hear you cry...

Over the coming season. When possible i shall try to post a weekly update, adding photos where appropriate. Garden Tour Part 3.

To Everything There is a Season....

Says the Teacher. Utterly meaningless! To everything there is a season. A time for every purpose under heaven:. A time to be born, And a time to die;. A time to break down, And a time to build up;. A time to weep And a time to laugh;. A time to mourn, And a time to dance;. A time to keep, And a time to throw away;. A time to love, And a time to hate;. A time of war, And a time of peace.
