Persephone's Playland: September 2009
http://persephonesplayland.blogspot.com/2009_09_01_archive.html
I am sure that Facebook. Generates a lot more money now than it did when I first became a user, but am I the only one who longs for the simpler days? Now, I have to check my Facebook account every five seconds to make sure that no one has posted an embarrassing photograph of me or written something inappropriate on my wall. Also, sometimes I just feel, well, overexposed. So what do I do? I miss the days when there was a little Facebook guy. PS Can someone please bring back the poke? I was not entirely co...

Persephone's Playland: November 2009
http://persephonesplayland.blogspot.com/2009_11_01_archive.html
I think that it is a mistake to attempt to compare Facebook and Twitter. On both sites, users become entangled in the development of an online image, however, this image is constructed very differently on the two sites. Both Facebook and Twitter allow users to create online images of themselves; however, the Twitter image is a markedly different one than the Facebook one. I wish I could Tweet at a list so that every time I want to say something about Twitter, I don't have to create a whole new blog post!

Http:/ www.nytimes.com/2009/12/14/technology/internet/14virus.html? 8220;I wonder what people are thinking of me right now? 8221; said Matt Marquess, an employee at a public relations firm in San Francisco whose Twitter account was recently hijacked, showering his followers with messages that appeared to offer a $500 gift card to Victoria’s Secret. 8220;No one had said anything to me,” he said. “I thought, how long have I been Twittering about underwear? Persephone's Playland
http://persephonesplayland.blogspot.com/2009/12/all-media-exist-to-invest-our-lives.html
All media exist to invest our lives with artificial perceptions and arbitrary values. I think that media is a form of entertainment (which, yes, as Mcluhan states is intrinisically linked to education), and as such, it is valued differently than the founding principles upon which we are raised. What role does religion play in this? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). There was an error in this gadget. Mary Beth Lives Life. To and FRO’s blog - Vox. A hot mess’ blog. Viking Trip: On The Campaign Tour
http://vikingtrip.blogspot.com/2007/01/on-campaign-tour.html
I'm on the move. Well, I'm studying the move. For my Blogging class, I'm taking a look at travel blogs. I welcome your contributions. Keep on truckin'! On The Campaign Tour. Politicians travel. We are not in the throes of a major political campaign at this time, but John Edwards has announced his run for president early enough for me to include him in my project (how thoughtful of him). Here is an entry from his own travel blog on his campaign website. The simplicity of his language even in the post abov...

In the Clouds - Election 2008: 10/01/2008 - 11/01/2008
http://amandamandi.blogspot.com/2008_10_01_archive.html
Tuesday, October 28, 2008. Should McCain be hoping this rain keeps up? I would normally have thought it absurd to attribute voter turnout and the outcome of a presidential election to Mother Nature. However, during my 90-minute drive to Hartford this morning, I realized why. Thought it important enough to run a story on the effects of rain on the popular vote. The reason? Why does rain work for Republicans? Well, they just don't say. The chart to the left shows how many voters were supposedly influenced ...

2007, Here We Come! This Cake Is Baked! Bert and Ernie: Which One Are You? In the past month, we have found five Western Conifer Seed Bugs in our home. I wouldn't have known. It was were it not for http:/ www.whatsthatbug.com/. A simultaneously compelling and revolting website. The Western Conifer Seed Bug was the site's December Bug of the Month. What an honor! That said, I am. An insect person. Not many people are, I know, but I'm. A bedside lamp and Nick at Nite. I had a close encounter with one of th...
